Zoh Shia has the unique ability to regenerate its protective armor, making it a tough adversary to take down.

Zoh Shia Spawn and Location in Monster Hunter Wilds
If you wish to challenge Zoh Shia again after your initial encounter during the story, follow these steps:
- Achieve Hunter Level 50 or higher.
- Talk to Werner in Suja when you receive the alert.
- This will allow you to engage Zoh Shia in the “Germination” assignment quest.
- Once you complete the Germination quest, Zoh Shia will randomly appear in the Ruins of Wyveria during the Inclemency period.
Zoh Shia shows up similarly to Jin Dahaad, where it’s part of a specific quest in its own arena. While it’s not guaranteed that it will spawn each time, that is the only period it can appear, so keep resting at your tent if you don’t see it.

The creature’s key strength lies in its self-regenerating crystal shell that protects it. You can damage specific sections like its head, legs, or wings to break the shell. While the shell regenerates after taking damage, it grows weaker each time, making it simpler to crack. When the shell is broken, that’s your moment to unleash powerful attacks on the vulnerable skin underneath.
Over time, sections of the shell will permanently disappear, unveiling burnt-looking skin that players can target for significant damage. However, as the battle progresses, Zoh Shia tends to become more aggressive and employs additional elemental attacks.
It’s essential to note that Zoh Shia generates many Wylkcrystals during the fight. These can then be detonated with elemental attacks, typically Fire or Thunder. If players can hit them with slinger ammo first, they can trigger a premature explosion, causing massive damage and stunning Zoh Shia. This tactic is not just helpful; it’s crucial for success in the battle.
The encounter with Zoh Shia is a lengthy battle of attrition. Approach it with caution, play defensively, and ensure you have high resistance to fire and thunder. Always heal if your health drops below 50%, and generally avoid engaging with its head.
