Pokémon GO has announced exciting updates for its upcoming event, Scattered To The Winds, taking place in February. This event will introduce shiny Pokémon debuts, increased wild spawns of related Pokémon, collection challenges, and numerous bonuses—making it a must-attend for trainers. This event follows the successful Beloved Buddies event, during which Dhelmise made its first appearance in the game.
The Scattered To The Winds event is scheduled for Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 10 AM local time, through Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 8 PM local time. Although it spans just three days, there is plenty for players to enjoy. Most features will be available to all players without needing a ticket, although some additional paid elements will provide extra wild encounters and items.
New Pokémon Debuts During Scattered To The Winds
Shiny Pokémon to Capture
In contrast to the recent Beloved Buddies event, there won’t be any entirely new Pokémon for trainers to catch during this event. However, an evolution line will make its shiny debut. Scatterbug will be available in shiny form, along with its evolutions, Spewpa and Vivillon, both of which will also have shiny variants for the first time. During the event, the chances of encountering shiny Pokémon will increase.
To evolve Scatterbug into Spewpa, you’ll need 25 Scatterbug Candy, and then 100 more to evolve it into Vivillon.
It’s important to note that Scatterbug cannot be found in the wild through regular means. To encounter it, you need to open gifts from friends and pin postcards received from them.
These encounters will be available in shiny form as soon as the event begins. Furthermore, Vivillon comes in 18 different color variants, which change depending on the location of the postcards you pin, and each version has its own shiny counterpart.
Increased Wild Encounters During Scattered To The Winds
During the Scattered To The Winds event, several Pokémon from different generations will have increased appearances in the wild. The following five Pokémon, all categorized as either Bug or Flying types, will spawn more frequently:
- Caterpie
- Pidgey
- Spearow
- Wurmple
- Starly
While none of these Pokémon are rare, their presence may be more limited in the current game due to the variety of Pokémon available.
Rewards for Scattered To The Winds
Trainers can look forward to numerous rewards throughout the Scattered To The Winds event, including:
- 2x XP for every PokéStop you spin.
- For first-time spins at PokéStops, you’ll receive 5x XP.
- Players can open up to 40 gifts each day, which can increase to 60 with the purchase of The Eggs-pedition Access February ticket.
- A greater chance of encountering Shiny Pidgey.
Additionally, the limit on guaranteed Lucky Pokémon trades has risen to 35, and any trades involving Pokémon caught in 2019 or earlier will now be guaranteed to become Lucky Pokémon.
All trainers will also have the chance to complete a new collection challenge involving the featured Pokémon from the event. Successful completion will reward XP, Stardust, and a special encounter with Scythe.
Field research tasks will be available by spinning PokéStops and Gyms, offering opportunities for additional Pokémon encounters and rare candies.
The Scattered To The Winds event in Pokémon GO promises plenty of bonuses and the debut of three shiny Pokémon, making it an event that players won’t want to miss.
