In Pokémon Pokopia, you get to decorate and build different areas, but you might not always have enough resources for your plans. Luckily, Drifloon can fly you to distant Dream Islands once every day, where you can gather a lot of supplies. While there, you might also find special items, recipes, and more.
In this game, you play as a Ditto that has transformed into the image of your old trainer. Your goal is to rebuild the world that has been left in ruins over the years. As you create suitable habitats, many more Pokémon will appear, and you can work on building bigger and better homes for everyone. However, crafting and building take a lot of supplies, and the fastest way to get them is by visiting distant Dream Islands.
### What Are Dream Islands and Why Are They Important
Dream Islands are randomly generated maps that change each time you visit, similar to the islands in Animal Crossing that Dodo Airlines takes you to. In Pokémon Pokopia, each Dream Island matches one of the major biomes in the game, like Volcano, Wasteland, or Ocean. These islands are great for gathering resources you need.
You can only visit a Dream Island once per day, so it’s important to take advantage of each trip to collect supplies. Besides resources, Dream Islands hide many treasures. Look for glowing Poké Balls for new items and recipes, and be sure to collect Stardust since it’s only obtainable there.
### How to Visit Dream Islands
Once Drifloon is your neighbor and friend, you can ask it to take you to a Dream Island. You can do this by talking to Drifloon and choosing “I want to go to a Dream Island,” or by inspecting a stuffed doll you’ve placed nearby.
Drifloon will ask for your approval and then take you there. Remember, while on the island, your home storage isn’t accessible, so make sure your inventory has empty space. Bring along any meals that boost your powers. For example, I learned the hard way not to visit a Volcanic Island without powering up my Rock Smash move!
### Dolls and Their Dream Islands
Certain dolls can take you to specific types of Dream Islands. For example, inspecting an Arcanine Doll will send you to the Volcanic Dream Island, where you can find resources like Iron Ore and Gold Ore. Here’s a list of dolls, the islands they lead to, and the resources you can collect:
| Doll | Island | Resources |
|——————–|———————|———————————————-|
| Arcanine Doll | Volcanic Island | Iron Ore, Gold Ore, Glowing Blocks |
| Ditto Doll | Random | Random resources |
| Dragonite Doll | Sky Dream Island | Wastepaper, Pokémetal, Crystal Fragments |
| Eevee Doll | Wasteland Island | Leppa Berries, Vines, Glowing Mushrooms |
| Pikachu Doll | Ocean Island | Twine, Seashells, Sea Glass |
| Substitute Doll | Random | Random resources |
There might be more dolls in the game, but this list covers the ones currently known.
### Collecting Stardust and Crafting Star Pieces
While exploring Dream Islands, look for Stardust. These shiny pink piles often appear on beaches or inside caves and are crucial if you want to play the multiplayer mode. When you gather 99 Stardust, you can craft a Star Piece.
You can gift a Star Piece to a Pokémon from another player that you don’t have yet, and they’ll give you a gift in return. Opening this gift in your world can bring a new Pokémon of that species to live with you — a great way to expand your team. Collecting enough Stardust takes effort, which makes visiting Dream Islands often a good idea.
Enjoy these trips to find resources, treasures, and new Pokémon while rebuilding your world!
