The upcoming Research Day in Pokémon GO will showcase the Generation 5 Pokémon Yamask and its Galarian variant. Research Days are regular events in Pokémon GO, similar to Spotlight Hours, where a specific Pokémon is highlighted. Typically, Field Research tasks provide various rewards like spawns of Pokémon or useful items. However, during Research Days, participants can expect all rewards to be spawns of the featured Pokémon.

Yamask is a fascinating Ghost-type Pokémon that players should definitely try to catch. The Galarian version of Yamask proves to be even more valuable, especially for those engaged in PvP battles. Its evolution, Runerigus, is a strong contender in the Great League, so it’s advisable to capture the best possible version during this special day.

As the title suggests, the Yamask Research Day will provide a range of Field Research tasks that allow players to capture both standard and Galarian forms. You can acquire these tasks by spinning PokéStops or Gym Discs throughout the event, with each spin yielding a new task to complete.

Pokémon GO: How To Unlock & Level Up Max Moves

Unlocking and upgrading Max Moves in Pokémon GO is crucial for tackling some challenging Max Battles, and it requires sufficient Candy and Max Particles.

The specific tasks will require players to complete various challenges, such as catching a set number of Pokémon or spinning a certain amount of PokéStops. After completing a task, players will receive the chance to catch either Yamask or Galarian Yamask.

Both Yamask and Galarian Yamask can potentially appear in their Shiny forms after completing the Field Research tasks.

The event’s exclusive Field Research tasks will be available to all trainers in Pokémon GO. Moreover, there will also be a paid Timed Research set that can be purchased to provide additional opportunities to catch Yamask or Galarian Yamask. Players can also encounter Dynamax Falinks as a Max Raid Boss during this time.

In addition to catching Yamask and Galarian Yamask, players will also encounter a variety of other Pokémon that will spawn more frequently during the event.

During the event, five Pokémon will have increased spawn rates. This includes the iconic Ground-type Cubone from Gen 1, as well as both standard and Galarian versions of Gen 3’s Zigzagoon. Additionally, players can expect to find more Ghost-type Duskull and Rock/Steel-type Shieldon from Gen 4.

All five Pokémon featured in increased spawn rates may also appear in their Shiny forms, although the odds won’t be enhanced, making them quite rare to find.

In addition to the Field Research tasks and special Pokémon spawns, there are more reasons to play Pokémon GO during the Yamask Research Day Event. New cosmetic items are being offered in the in-game shop, which may include brand new or featured items. Among these is the debut of the Lucario Mask.
