Yama The White is a boss fight in Act 4 of Path of Exile 2. It’s located on the island called the Eye of Hinekora. Players encounter this boss during the main storyline of Act 4 while seeking to speak with the Mother of the Dead. The goal is to get her help in defeating the Beast and removing the corruption from the world.
Yama The White guards the entrance to the Trial of the Ancestors. To challenge him, you need to complete three challenges on the island. These challenges aren’t very difficult, but Yama has some mechanics that you need to watch out for during the fight.
Yama The White can be found in the Hall of the Dead, on the Eye of Hinekora island. To access his chamber, players must find and complete three challenges scattered around the area. These can be found simply by exploring, and checkpoints located at each trial’s entrance make navigation easier. Since maps in Path of Exile 2 are randomly generated, there’s no specific path to follow.
Yama The White deals chaos damage, so it’s a good idea to have high chaos resistance before engaging him. Some of his attacks do a lot of damage if you’re caught without dodging properly.
The fight has two main phases, which can be a little tricky to get through.
In the first phase, Yama splits into multiple forms and stands on top of pillars in the arena. During this phase, he can’t be damaged directly; instead, you need to dodge the chaos projectiles thrown by the attacking monkeys. These projectiles can deal significant damage, so focus on avoiding them rather than attacking.
The second phase involves Yama drawing the soul out of your body and sending several apparitions across the arena. To avoid taking heavy damage, you must stand next to the highlighted apparition. This is crucial to prevent lethal AoE attacks. Besides that, avoid Yama’s ground-based AoE attacks, which can drain your health quickly. Once you master these mechanics, the fight becomes much more manageable.
