In Final Fantasy 7: Remake, the choices you make during dialogue can influence some scenes later in the game, especially those involving key characters like Aerith and Tifa. One example is a moment when Tifa asks Cloud what dress she should wear when going out with her childhood friend. Depending on your answer, Tifa’s outfit in the game will match your selection.
The game’s story expands on many parts of the original, including when Cloud helps rescue Tifa from Don Corneo’s place. While teaming up with Aerith, Cloud completes various tasks to get inside Corneo’s home. In the remake, there’s a special scene where Tifa is shown briefly as she heads into Wall Market, dressed in the outfit Cloud recommended earlier.
How to Choose Tifa’s Dress in FF7 Remake
During Chapter 3, after finishing certain side quests, Tifa asks Cloud what kind of dress she should wear for their special night out. This “night on the town” only happens after you progress further in the story and complete some side missions in Sector 7. Tifa asks Cloud what look would suit her best for their evening together.
You’ll be presented with three options, and your choice influences what dress Tifa wears when she later visits Don Corneo’s place. The options are:
- “Something Mature”
- “Something Sporty”
- “Something Exotic”
Tifa’s comments will change based on what you choose, and Cloud’s response will also reflect your decision. While it affects her outfit, it won’t impact the overall story — just her appearance later in the game. There’s no time limit for making your choice, so take your time.
Which Dress Should You Pick for Tifa?
Whichever option you choose doesn’t significantly alter the story. The main difference is how Tifa looks in Chapter 9:
- “Something Mature” results in her wearing a revealing purple dress that looks elegant.
- “Something Sporty” makes her wear a black dress with rose patterns, and her hair is styled in two buns.
- “Something Exotic” gives her a black kimono-style dress with red flower decorations in her hair.
No matter your choice, the game will show Tifa in that outfit later on. Unlocking all these looks requires multiple playthroughs, but doing so awards you the achievement titled “Dressed to the Nines.” This feature adds more freedom of choice and makes the game stand out from the original, giving you more ways to customize two of its most iconic characters.
