Which Specialist Should You Choose in Killing Floor 3: Completing or Solving?

Select Language:

It’s 2091, and the world isn’t in great shape, especially when a powerful corporation creates an army of zombies that can only be described as murderers. In Killing Floor 3, you’re part of Nightfall, a group fighting back against Horzine’s dangerous science experiments, one wave of zombies at a time.

Before starting, you need to pick your Specialist, which is the class that determines your weapons, gadgets, and how you help your team. Whether you’re setting up high-tech turrets or healing teammates during the chaos, understanding your role is key. The other main challenge? Avoid getting eaten. Here’s what you need to know to select the right Specialist.

How to Switch Your Specialist
When you join a game mode—either multiplayer or solo—turn to your right. You’ll see a Communications Terminal labeled ‘06.’ This is where you change your Specialist. Interact with the terminal, and you’ll see six character portraits at the bottom middle of the screen. Click through them to view their gear and abilities. Once you’ve decided, select the portrait of your chosen Specialist to confirm your pick.

All six Specialists are unlocked from the start—no need to grind or unlock them first.

All Specialists and What They Do
Here’s a quick overview of each Specialist in Killing Floor 3:

  • Commando (Assault)
An all-around fighter with a drone that automatically targets enemies with acid projectiles. His grenade is a basic explosive that delivers high damage in a short burst. Best for reliable damage in front-line combat.

  • Firebug (Incinerator)
Focuses on heat weapons and crowd control. She can release a fiery explosion that burns nearby enemies, and her Molotov ignites large areas, causing ongoing fire damage. Ideal for area denial and setting traps.

  • Engineer (Defender)
Tech-savvy and defensive, he uses a powersuit that deploys twin turrets firing sonic waves. His mine explodes into shrapnel, causing solid ballistic damage. Great for setting up defenses and supporting with automated fire.

  • Sharpshooter (Sniper)
A long-range specialist who relies on precision. She has a homing arrow launcher that locks onto targets and a cryo grenade to freeze enemies, stopping hordes in their tracks. Best for high single-target damage and crowd control through freezing.

  • Ninja (Skirmisher)
A close-quarters fighter equipped with a grappling hook that pulls him into enemies and deals electrical damage. His electric grenade damages multiple enemies around him. Perfect for disrupting enemy lines and quick movement.

  • Medic (Support)
Focused on keeping the team alive, he deploys a barrier that heals allies and damages enemies inside it. His bio-grenade boosts team strength while weakening foes. Essential for team survival and healing support.

Each Specialist offers unique gameplay styles, so choose the one that best fits your preferred approach to combat and team support.
