There’s always something to do in Solasta 2, whether you’re fighting on the front lines as a warrior or supporting your team as a cleric. Each member of your party has a specific role that only they can handle. No matter what you choose, it’s helpful to review your stats, backgrounds, and especially subclasses.
Choosing a subclass for your cleric is an important decision. We’ll help you understand your options and what they mean for combat. Here’s everything you need to create a strong cleric who can support your team through various adventures.
### Best Stats for the Cleric Class
| Stat | Priority | Ideal Range |
|—————-|————|——————-|
| Strength | Low | 8-10 |
| Dexterity | Low | 8-10 |
| Constitution | High | 12-15 |
| Wisdom | High | 12-15 |
| Intelligence | Medium | 10-12 |
| Charisma | Medium | 10-12 |
A cleric is usually the healer in a group and has a strong connection to their deity. Humans are great for this class, but any race can become a cleric. They need high Wisdom to cast spells effectively and good Constitution to have more hit points.
### Best Build Options for the Cleric Class
| Best Ancestry | Best Backgrounds | Best Personalities |
|—————-|——————————|——————————|
| (Various possible options based on preferred playstyle) | Acolyte, Artist, Ascetic, Occultist, Philosopher | Caregiver, Innocent, Ruler, Sage |
Humans are flexible with any class because they can choose a feat early on. Any race can make a good cleric if the stats align. For backgrounds, Occultist and Ascetic are excellent choices to boost your cleric’s power. At level three, you can select one of three subclasses to specialize further.
### Subclasses
#### Life Domain
Focused on healing, this subclass makes your cleric the ultimate healer. Spells like Cure Wounds and Healing Word deal double damage, and using Disciple of Life increases healing even more. You can also bring teammates back from the brink, making this a classic choice for a supportive cleric.
#### Oblivion Domain
This subclass emphasizes burst damage and support in combat. It allows you to revive allies from a distance and deal necrotic AoE damage with Herald of Pain unless enemies pass a Wisdom saving throw. This option balances support and offense, adding power to your cleric without losing their core abilities.
#### Battle Domain
This subclass drops the healing focus to concentrate on damage, turning your cleric into a holy warrior akin to a paladin. It’s ideal if your team lacks melee fighters or if other casters are supporting from afar. This build lets your cleric heal themselves well and serve as a tank, holding the line while others attack enemies from a distance.
### Which Subclass is Best for You?
For beginners, starting with the Oblivion Domain offers a good balance of healing and damage. On higher difficulties, consider choosing either the Life Domain or the Battle Domain based on your team’s needs. If your party already has someone skilled at soaking up damage, focusing on healing might be less critical, and you might favor a more offensive subclass.
