You will be tossing coins and aiming to beat your high score in Raccoin with six different characters. Each character is a cute animal with its own real-life job or hobby, and they have unique perks, passive abilities, and coin types that influence their playstyles.
When starting the game, only one character, Manager, is available. To unlock the other five characters, you’ll need to fulfill specific conditions. This guide explains how to unlock each character and highlights their features so you can choose the best one for your playstyle.
Manager
As the initial character, Manager offers some of the most beginner-friendly perks. You mainly use Math Coins, which increase the value of your other coins. Manager’s perks also provide two extra exchanges each round and a bonus for earning tickets. The best part is that Manager is available from the very start, so it’s recommended to use them for several runs until you get a good feel for the game, even if you decide to unlock other characters later.
Biologist
Biologist focuses on plant and animal coins, which introduce some complexity. These coins generally require pairing with similar types to activate effects—for example, Bunny Coins need other Bunnies to work, and Hunter Coins like Wolves benefit from Bunnies. Despite this, Biologist remains beginner-friendly due to straightforward effects and the possibility of earning special coins after exchanges.
To unlock Biologist, you must play a run with Manager and reach round 8, regardless of whether you lose afterwards.
Chemist
Chemist deals with Element Coins and emphasizes creating explosions to push coins in multiple directions. Modifier Prizes are particularly helpful here, turning regular coins into better ones, and stacking up to five modifiers is exclusive to this character. Early-game useful coins include TNT and the Whirlwind Coin, which are great for boosting your score.
To access Chemist, you need to reach round 9 with Biologist.
Trader
Trader enjoys watching the Spin Wheel spin, which helps shorten the combo required for your Spin Energy. The wheel randomly spawns prizes or adds coins to your board, making it useful if you’re good at forming combos. Coins here are mostly easier to handle, aside from the Jetoin, which can have a random value and even subtract points. Trader becomes available after playing with Chemist and reaching round 10.
Astronomer
This character introduces a more complex mechanic called Astrofall, which allows coins to jump around the board and land in different spots. Triggering this feature can significantly increase coin value. While challenging at first, Astronomer becomes very rewarding once mastered, especially using the Sun Coin and modifiers that maximize its potential. Each round grants a free Astro coin, perfect for starting strong.
To unlock Astronomer, you need to reach round 11 with Trader.
Big Eater
Big Eater is one of the most complicated characters but still manageable with some practice. This character uses Food Coins, like Chococoin, which are not powerful alone but can be combined with others to increase their effects. The unique perk is the Cooking Pot gadget, allowing you to cook coins and enhance them.
To unlock Big Eater, you must reach round 12 with Astronomer. The final round in the game is round 15, so this is quite close to the end of a typical run.
