There’s always a lot happening in Where Winds Meet, which can easily make you feel overwhelmed, especially with other players causing chaos in online mode. Around every corner, you’ll find small mysteries or activities, and one of these is the Bell of Demoncalm—an intriguing item without an associated quest to explain it.
If you come across it, your character will indicate that it can be repaired, but it’s not immediately clear how to do so. Repairing it is very helpful because it can make many other tasks much easier. The main challenge is obtaining the missing piece, which isn’t in the tower and isn’t something you can find just lying around.
Where Is the Bell of Demoncalm?
The Bell of Demoncalm is located roughly in the center of Qinghe, right on top of Moonveil Mountain. Specifically, it’s on the top floor of the Peace Bell Tower, and it’s hard to miss because it’s the most noticeable feature of the mountain area.
You can’t just climb directly to the top of the Peace Bell Tower from the outside since the bell is on the interior’s topmost floor. However, you can climb most of the tower and then enter through open windows, or you can navigate around inside until you reach the top—your choice.
When you reach the top floor, you’ll see the bell—though it’s in rough shape.
How To Get The Demoncalm Bell Fragment
When you see the bell, you’ll notice that it’s missing a considerable chunk, preventing it from ringing. Examining the bell will reveal that it can be repaired, but you need to find the missing piece first. Unfortunately, it’s not in the tower itself or easily found as an item.
If you take a closer look at the bell, it will tell you which part is missing. When you examine that part, it will also tell you exactly where to find it.
Finding Qi Sheng
You might have met Qi Sheng early in your game but then forgotten about him. Early on, near where the first Wayfarer of the Verdant Wilds is located, you’ll find Qi Sheng a short distance past him, heading toward General’s Shrine. Qi Sheng is involved in another system called the Melodies of Peace.
The Melodies of Peace is a web of diagrams offering bonus effects, like increased Vitality and Endurance, or new abilities such as the Wallstride Lightness skill. The Bronze Bell Fragment, which you need to repair the bell, is located at the very end of this system.
Note: You don’t have to unlock every node in the Melodies of Peace—only those necessary to progress to the next point.
Collecting Oddities
To unlock nodes in the Melodies of Peace, you need to submit Oddities, which are various strange items and creatures you find across the world. These include Dagger Generals, purple poisonous flowers, red mushrooms, Whisper Hives, and more.
Oddities are marked on the mini-map as small insects like butterflies, but they only appear on the mini-map, not the main world map. You’ll need to be close to see them. A useful trick is to unlock a high-speed dash skill like Meteor Flight, which allows you to fly around quickly and drop down whenever an Oddity shows up nearby.
There’s a limited number of Oddities in the game, so check the Sentient Beings section in your journal to see if there are still ones left to find in each region.
Repairing The Bell of Demoncalm
Once you’ve gathered enough Oddities and unlocked the necessary nodes, you can return to the Peace Bell Tower. Qi Sheng will tell you that it’s time to repair the bell.
Repairing it isn’t just about submitting the missing piece as usual. Instead, you need to manually slot the Bronze Bell Fragment into the bell using Construction Mode. When you try to repair it, Construction Mode will automatically activate. Simply select the fragment and click on the green outline of the bell to insert it, completing the repair. Then exit Construction Mode to proceed.
What Does the Bell of Demoncalm Do?
When you interact with the repaired Bell of Demoncalm, ringing it will spread its sound across Qinghe. This action, as the game suggests, will weaken the world bosses around the region.
The critical effect is that the bell’s power permanently nerfs these bosses, making them easier to defeat. If you check any world boss on the map after ringing the bell, it will show that the effect is active. This makes challenging bosses more manageable, especially if you’ve been struggling with them.
