In Where Winds Meet, oddities are special collectibles scattered throughout the large open world of the game. Hidden among ruins, buried in sand, or just out of reach, each oddity adds to your collection. For players aiming to complete everything, these collectibles are important for exploring all the regions fully.
Collecting oddities also rewards you with coins and experience points (XP), making them useful stops or side missions during your quests. In the Hexi region of Jade Gate Pass, there are three types of oddities for you to find.
Udumbara Flower Oddity Locations
The Udumbara Flower is a glowing purple flower that you can find growing in the sand, on building walls or ruins, and on top of golden-leafed trees. When you find one, you’ll need to determine which flower is real and which ones are fake. This puzzle appears each time you approach a flower.
Visit images of the Udumbara Flowers to help identify them. Look for the glowing purple color, especially the golden tendrils. Listen for a deep groaning sound that grows louder as you get closer. In the Jade Gate Pass area of Hexi, there are 15 Udumbara Flowers to find.
Shadowfin Oddity Locations
Shadowfins are found in the sand. You’ll recognize them by seeing broken stone shards, a wispy golden rail, and a purple-blue floating figure. The Shadowfin circles the broken stone, and when you’re close enough, you’ll see an prompt to use ‘G’ to repair the stone.
Keep an eye out for Shadowfins around the sand, particularly along the Milky Way path. When the Shadowfin approaches the stone and is about to make contact, hold ‘G’ to perform your Tai Chi and repair the stone. This causes the Shadowfin to hit the rock, allowing you to collect the oddity. There are 16 Shadowfin oddities in the Jade Gate Pass region.
Apsara Hare Oddity Locations
The Apsara Hare is a tiny, mythical, musical bunny that floats above buildings and ruins. It plays a gentle tune and holds a small guitar-like instrument. When you approach it, the hare will speed off. You need to catch it to claim the oddity.
Follow the hare’s music sound to find it floating in the air. As it flies away, green wispy circles appear behind it. Jump into these circles to be propelled upward toward the next one. Repeat this to reach the flying hare. There are 16 Apsara Hare oddities in the Jade Gate Pass area.
