The Sims 4: Adventure Awaits features several details that are easy to overlook. One of these is the ability to pan for crystals. While it’s not a skill you can learn, it’s a fun activity that can help your Sim find sparkling treasures from the water.
Here’s how crystal panning works, where to go, and what kind of rewards you can expect from exploring Gibbi Gibbi’s waters.
Where to Go Crystal Panning in Gibbi Gibbi
You need to visit Crystal Valley to try panning for crystals. The best spot is near the Fearful Fish Lounge, as the location you want is just down the road. When you arrive, face the lounge with the fountain and statue to your right and the river ahead. Turn around, follow the stone path past the statue, and pass two outdoor tables on your left.
On the path, cross the bridge at the T-junction, then turn right after crossing the river. Follow the shoreline between the two patches of purple flowers. Keep walking along the shore, passing four patches of these flowers and different types of trees. Once you see tall pink flowers near a tree with dangling white blossoms, you’re in the right area. Keep moving toward the water in front of you; you’ll notice a Fishing Spot sign indicating the spot for panning.
How to Find the Panning Spot
Tilt your camera downward into the water, and on the left, near the cluster of purple and pink flowers and reeds, there is a large stone shelf in the water—this is where you should focus your activity.
How to Pan for Crystals
Click on the water to see the option ‘Pan for Crystals.’ If it doesn’t appear right away, try again closer to the shore and reeds. The window for this activity is very small, so patience is key. The time of day doesn’t seem to matter.
Once your Sim starts, they’ll spend a few minutes doing a panning animation. Afterward, a notification will tell you what was found. Sometimes, nothing will come up, but more often than not, your Sim will discover a variety of items.
What Can You Find?
The rewards are similar to foraging in Brindleton Bay. You might find random objects such as rubber ducks or plumbing parts, along with crystals that can be added to their collection. The likelihood of finding crystals can be influenced by the luck mechanic from the Enchanted By Nature trait. However, there’s no specific skill involved in this activity, and other water-related skills like fishing or swimming do not impact the chance of success.
