Where to Locate the Blue Button

When you first visit Emberdale early in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, there’s a quick side quest you can do for a nice reward that permanently powers up one of your party members. It’s one of many small secrets hidden throughout the game.

This simple side quest involves helping a boy find his blue button. The solution isn’t complicated, but it does require some careful exploring. If you’re not paying close attention, it’s easy to overlook some important details.

### How to Start the Blue Button Sidequest
#### Talk to the Boy
To begin this quest, speak with the young boy located just east of the church in Emberdale. You can do this right after arriving in Emberdale in the present time, once you’ve collected enough fragments and finished the past version of this scene.

Keep in mind, the boy tends to move after certain story events, so it’s best to start this quest as soon as you reach Emberdale. Don’t wait — if you delay, you might miss your chance.

### Where to Find the Blue Button
Once you’ve talked to the boy, there are three simple steps to finish the quest:
– Talk to Palmela.
– Check the sign.
– Return the button to the boy.

Head into the building on the west side of town, which serves as both an item shop and a fortune-teller’s place. Inside, go right and down the stairs into a sunken room to meet Palmela. She will ask for five gold to read your future. Pay her and she will suggest checking the sign outside of the inn. The correct sign is shown in the image above. Once you find it, you will locate the blue button.

Return to the boy at the same spot where you found him earlier. When you speak to him and give him the button, he will reward you with a Seed of Life. This item permanently increases the max HP of a character.

### What to Do With the Reward
At this point in the game, you might want to give the Seed of Life to the Hero or hold onto it until you become more familiar with the game’s vocation system. You may also want to save it for a character you haven’t unlocked yet, so it’s best to keep it for later use.

With this, you’ve completed the first secret side quest in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined. Now you can continue with Emberdale’s story or explore the town further for more treasures.
