Like all artworks, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has many layers. It reflects the feelings and stories of its creator. When you look beneath the paint, you see clues about how it was made and the emotions poured into it.
This art can feel very deep and serious, but it can also be fun and playful. That’s exactly what Verso’s Drafts are about. In the background area of the canvas, you’ll find many Gestrals playing and having fun. Some are a little mischievous too—one even lost their pirate ship in a tidal wave by the waterfall.
Learning About The Missing Pirate Ship
Many of the Gestrals in Verso’s Drafts tend to stay close together in a few spots. You can find this group of pretend pirates south of the diving board mini-game, near the seesaw mini-game as well. They are two small Gestrals and one larger one, huddled in the water near dry land.
When you talk to them, they say they’re on a treasure hunt. But in reality, it’s more like a rescue mission. They were playing with their toy pirate ship, and because the big Gestral didn’t realize how strong they were, they made big waves. These waves caused the ship to go flying down the water—and it’s now lost to the Gestrals.
Finding The Missing Pirate Ship
After chatting with the Gestrals, even though they don’t know where the pirate ship is, they give an important clue: the ship fell down the waterfall after being caught by the waves.
There is another waterfall just south of that spot. Follow it and step down into the shallow pool of water in front of it. You won’t find the ship there—unless you look behind the waterfall.
Behind the waterfall, you might spot some hidden items. Every game has a secret cave behind a waterfall, and Clair Obscur’s version is in Verso’s Drafts. The toy pirate ship is quite large, so once you enter the cave, you won’t miss it.
After you retrieve the ship, go back to the Gestrals. They’ll be thrilled and will reward you with a piece of birthday cake.
