Glenbright Manor is situated in the southern part of Hernand Highlands. It’s just south of Glenbright Farm. You may come across this place naturally during the Chapter 3 quest called “Nonhuman,” or explore it at your own pace. However, you might miss the puzzle if you only visit briefly, as you won’t interact much with the pieces during that quest.
How to obtain the two daggers
The puzzle involves retrieving two ornate daggers, which double as keys to access a hidden room. To find these, go to the second-floor hall of the manor. Look for a large crank wheel beside a statue holding a big glass orb. Interact with the crank to turn a lamp in the room until it casts a blue light onto the orb.
This action causes panels on your left and right to lift, revealing two daggers placed on a shield. Approach each dagger, hold the Left Bumper, and look at it so you can pick it up. Repeat the process for both daggers. Then, head back to the main office where you originally found the only survivor in the “Nonhuman” quest.
At the fireplace, insert each dagger into the holes on either side of a plaque. This unlocks a secret door to your right. Inside, you’ll find a ladder leading to the basement, which contains various items to loot, including a Palmer Pill and the blueprint for the Cloudcart. There’s also a locked door in the basement that cannot be opened with a regular key or the standard Glenbright Manor Key.
Where to find the Glenbright Basement Key
To get the basement key, ascend the ladder and go to the first floor, where the staircase starts. Underneath the staircase, there’s a painting depicting two soldiers on horseback. Approach this wall and run your character into it to reveal a hidden passage. Inside, you’ll find the Glenbright Basement Key resting on a table.
If you’re willing to take a reputation hit, you can also loot this hidden room for a good amount of valuable loot, including copper pouches, silver, and jewelry.
Bring the key back to the secret room and use it to open the basement door. Inside, you’ll find the Alchemy Formula for Meliara’s Lesser Elixir, a strongbox with about 1.23 silver, some lesser elixirs on a shelf to the left, and various valuables on a table. If you’re short on money, raiding the manor can be very profitable due to the wealth of items you can sell or use for crafting.
