In Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, you frequently explore the jungle at all times, wander through caves, and walk along underground tunnels. Because of this, you often encounter darkness. There are a few ways to see in these dark places, but one main method is using Snake’s cigar to create some light. Still, options like this are limited, and the best tool for night visibility is definitely night-vision goggles. These goggles are designed specifically to help you see in the dark, unlike a cigar. However, you don’t start with the goggles—they are found somewhere in the game. Here’s exactly where you can find them.
### Where to Find the Night-Vision Goggles
The goggles are located inside the cave system you enter after defeating Ocelot. This location makes sense because the area is very dark, and the goggles are needed most there. Unfortunately, they aren’t lying right at your feet when you drop down into the cave. Instead, you need to reach the central chamber of the cave, where two waterfalls are located. Be sure to get to the bottom of these waterfalls, not the top.
In the waterfall room, there is a small pathway. If you have your in-game compass active, it will show that the path is to the northwest. Follow that pathway carefully, but don’t drop down it yet. Instead, stay close to the right wall and keep moving forward until you reach a small crawlspace. Crawl through it to enter another area, which has another crawlspace. Crawl through this as well to continue.
This will lead you to a hidden little area where a small Kerotan frog is nearby. Right beneath this frog, you will find the night-vision goggles. Once you pick them up, returning to the rest of the cave won’t be too hard, as long as you don’t run into too many bats along the way.
