There are many legendary Pokémon in the Pokédex today, but none are as famous as Mewtwo. It’s not surprising that Mewtwo is one of the 300 Pokémon included in Pokémon Pokopia. In fact, it ranks just behind the top positions, sitting at number 299 in your plastic Pokédex.
Getting Mewtwo isn’t easy, even though in terms of skill and rarity, it’s not too difficult. It just requires a lot of effort. This guide explains what steps you need to take and how to get Mewtwo to appear in your village so you can learn from its cosmic wisdom.
How to Unlock Mewtwo in Pokémon Pokopia
First, you need to travel to the final area called Sparkling Skylands. You won’t be able to start the Mewtwo quest until you reach this part of the game, so focus on completing the main story if you haven’t unlocked it yet.
Once there, go to the island with the tall metal tower to meet Tinkatuff. To get there, you’ll need to build the Waterside Dinghy habitat to meet Dragonite. This will be one of your first tasks at this stage. Continue with Tinkatuff’s storyline until you’re asked to restore the Skyland Building. When you finish restoring it, you’ll find Mewtwo at the top.
How to Restore the Skyland Building for Tinkatuff
Restoring the Skyland Building works the same as other building tasks but takes longer. You go floor by floor, collecting different materials and waiting about a day for each one to be completed.
| Building Floor | Materials Needed |
|---|---|
| 2nd Floor | 25 Concrete, 10 Glass, 5 Pokemetal, 10 Iron Ingot |
| 3rd Floor | 25 Concrete, 10 Glass, 10 Glowing Stone, 15 Copper Ingot |
| 4th Floor | 40 Concrete, 15 Glass, 10 Paper, 10 Brick, 20 Lumber |
After finishing the Skyland Building, you’ll go on a quest to meet Mewtwo at the top. This will add Mewtwo to your Dex, but it won’t automatically live in your village yet.
How to Make Mewtwo Live in Your Village
To have Mewtwo settle in your village permanently, you need to meet it on a Dragonite Dream Island. You can get there using a Dragonite or a Ditto Poke Doll.
Mewtwo’s location on these islands is random and often behind enclosed walls made of different materials. Break down these walls, talk to Mewtwo, and invite it back to your village. Mewtwo doesn’t have a regular habitat. You can settle it in any open Tall Grass habitat or place it in any available home. Initially, it will follow you from where a Drifloon left, but you can continue to bring it along to new areas as you travel.
