Pokemon Pokopia is mainly about adorable visuals and a laid-back atmosphere. There’s no real end goal beyond collecting everything the game offers. Since many of the Legendary Pokémon are rare, they tend to arrive quite late in your playthrough. But don’t be surprised if the last Pokémon you encounter turns out to be Mew.
Being the first and most iconic Mythical Pokémon, earning Mew is a challenge worth undertaking. It’s ranked 300 out of 300 in the Pokédex, so finding it could be the final accomplishment of your journey. All the effort to get Mew is worth it because it’s a Pokémon that carries a lot of prestige.
And no, it’s not just hiding under a truck—if only things were that simple.
Where to Find Mew
You can actually locate Mew quite early in the game in the Withering Wastelands, which is the starting area of your adventure. Behind a rocky wall there, you need to have the Rock Smash move to proceed. Once you get it, break through the wall, turn left immediately, and break through another wall to go down into Mew’s hiding spot.
You can also take a longer route by crossing a steel fence on the left side of the area, which leads you through a winding path to the same spot.
At first, you might think this is just a wall covered with Unown carvings, but once you unlock it, Mew will be waiting inside.
How to Get Past the Unown Wall in the Withering Wastelands
To pass this wall below the Wastelands, you need to find 27 Mysterious Cubes. These cubes can be arranged against the wall to form a pattern. It’s not too tricky—by rotating the cubes, you can match them with their corresponding Unown letters.
The tricky part is finding the cubes. They are hidden in glowing squares on the ground, but those squares can also contain fossils or relics, so it’s mostly up to chance. Using a Dowsing Machine with a Pokémon that knows Search, like Pidgey or Vespiquen, can speed things up, but expect this process to take some time. Even if Mew is the last Pokémon you discover, it would be a fitting end to your adventure.
