Once you arrive on the new planet Arcadia-7 in StarRupture, your main goal is to gather valuable information and materials to bring back to Earth. The tutorial shows you how to use the Orbital Cargo Launcher to increase your levels.
Sending more items to various companies helps you unlock better structures and advance in the game. Ores are essential for crafting most items, and there are five types you should know how to locate and mine easily.
StarRupture is currently in Early Access, so details may change over time.
How to Find and Extract Wolfram
Wolfram is a common ore on the map, usually found during the tutorial. It looks like copper with brown veins, which you can identify by a small archway in the middle of the vein showing brown ore. You can extract Wolfram either by building an Ore Excavator on flat, ground veins or by using your mining tool on smaller chunks around the area. These smaller pieces are easily spotted by their brown color and can give you a lot of ore at once.
Tip: To start mining Wolfram, you need a power structure connected to the excavator, either through platforms or rails. Besides the initial vein near the Orbital Lander, larger Wolfram deposits can be found including north and northeast of your starting point, and another sizable deposit is located far to the north of the map.
How to Find and Extract Titanium
Titanium is a smaller, more widespread ore appearing early in the game. Its veins are rocky and gray, identifiable on the map by gray circles or groups of circles. Like Wolfram, you can build an Ore Excavator on these veins or harvest the smaller gray rocks scattered on the ground or within meteorites, which also yield Titanium.
How to Find and Extract Calcium
Calcium isn’t available for free during the tutorial; you’ll need to locate its veins to place an excavator. Calcium veins appear in damp areas marked by white structures resembling teeth. You can find some to the north and east of your starting area, with larger deposits appearing further northeast, especially through mountain ranges. Small white rocks with black spots also contain Calcium ore that you can harvest.
How to Find and Extract Helium-3
Helium-3 starts appearing in the early game but isn’t farmed immediately. Look for purple gas geysers on the ground or inside meteorites; these rocks contain Helium-3. Geysers are located in the far north and east of the Orbital Lander, with a notable triple geyser site northeast of a large Calcium vein. To farm Helium-3, your Selenian Corporation rank must reach level six, and you may encounter existing abandoned bases that prevent farming in some locations.
How to Find and Extract Sulfur
Sulfur is the last ore to farm and requires an extra step since it isn’t found as scattered rocks. Sulfur veins are easy to spot, marked by bright yellow on the map and the surrounding area has corrosive, damaging air. To mine sulfur, you first need to unlock the Sulfur Extractor at level nine with the Selenian Corporation. This extractor can only be placed after a rupture clears the corrosive air. You must visit the veins immediately afterward, once the high temps subside, and then place the extractor to start mining.
Even after unlocking the sulfur extractor, wait for the right conditions—specifically, after a rupture—to safely place it and begin collecting sulfur ore.
