In Hell Is Us, you face enemies called Lymbic Entities. These are disturbing enemies made up of a Hollow Walker and Haze, which seem to be entirely formed from human emotions. You can only damage them using Lymbic Weapons—special items that vibrate at unique frequencies, breaking down these emotional enemies.
As the strength of a Lymbic Entity grows, so does the need for more powerful weapons from you. Victor is your main hero, but he has room to improve. To help him get stronger, you’ll need to collect several Lymbic Crafting Tomes. These will allow Victor to boost his abilities, giving you access to better weapons and more durable defensive gear.
What Are Crafting Tomes Used For?
Lymbic Crafting Tomes are used to improve Victor’s smithing skills at his forge back in Jova. He learned a lot from Vitalis before he disappeared, but he never finished his training. These tomes help fill in those gaps, allowing Victor to improve in his craft, even without Vitalis.
But the tomes do more than just upgrade the quality of your weapons and gear. They also unlock new features at Victor’s forge and increase the variety of items he can produce. Each tome has a specific function, which we will explain below.
What Each Tome Does
There are four Lymbic Crafting Tomes in the game, each with its unique purpose:
- Lymbic Imbuing – grants Victor the ability to infuse shards into items.
- Fundamentals of Lymbic Forging – allows you to upgrade Defensive Gear to Grade 3, Weapons to Grade 5, and craft high-quality Lymbic Consumables.
- Advanced Lymbic Forging – enables Victor to upgrade Defensive Gear to Grade 4.
- Ancient Lymbic Forging – lets Victor craft higher-quality Lymbic Consumables.
The tomes are always found in the same order, no matter where you discover them. You can’t unlock an advanced ability before you’ve found the earlier ones, so you must follow the sequence.
Where To Find Each Tome
There are only four tomes to find in total. Most are easy to spot along your main path or in specific areas since they are placed in locations you’re unlikely to miss, except for the one near Jova’s forge. The game design ensures you will always encounter them in the same order.

Remember to return to Victor after getting each tome. Upgrading his abilities is vital for survival. Keeping your weapons fully upgraded can help you handle tougher enemies, especially those at Grade 2 or 3, without struggling.
