Although the Switch 2 upgrade for Super Mario Bros. Wonder mainly emphasizes its multiplayer features, it also adds some new single-player levels to the game. These levels are redesigned versions of stages from the original game, each altered by the appearance of a Koopalings with Wonder Power.
Players must defeat each Koopalings at the end of these reworked levels to recover the seven Bellabel Flowers that were stolen in the expansion. Before tackling these boss fights, you’ll need to find Captain Toad’s Brigade Tents to unlock the new levels and battles. Most of these tents are scattered across Wonder’s World Map. Below are instructions on how to unlock each new level and the locations of all Brigade Tents.
Opening Boss Fight
When you first arrive at Bellabel Park, a new cutscene plays revealing the Koopalings for the first time. They interrupt your visit and steal the park’s Bellabel Flowers. This initial fight involves all seven Koopalings, who then hide throughout the Flower Kingdom once defeated. Unlike subsequent individual boss battles, this opening fight can only be replayed by starting a new game save.
Wendy’s Showdown
After beating the Koopalings at Bellabel Park, revisit Pipe Rock Plateau to start fighting Wendy, the first of the boss battles. Wendy’s level is a reworked version of Piranha Plants on Parade, where her Wonder Power turned her into a giant Cheep Cheep. You face her at the end of the level, which now has extra purple Cheep Cheeps jumping at you along with the usual obstacles.
To reach Wendy, head north from Bellabel Park’s entrance, passing the Poplin shop, and find Captain Toad’s Brigade Tent on your right.
In Wendy’s level, you’ll encounter a challenging environment with giant Piranha Plants and Cheep Cheeps. Using the elephant power-up can help — flicking Wendy’s bombs out of the way with the trunk makes the fight easier.
Lemmy’s Showdown
Once Wendy is defeated, progress to Pipe Rock Plateau and locate Fluff-Puff Peaks. The Brigade Tent here is on the pink cloud area above the first open zone. To go there, bypass the ground level and head straight to the cloud above via the right-side path, provided you have enough Wonder Seeds for unlocking.
Lemmy’s level is a remix of The Midway Trial: Hop to It. His Wonder Power causes him to become a jester who throws large yellow bombs. The level’s difficulty increases with added crystal blocks and explosive enemies, requiring careful navigation.
To access Lemmy’s level, go past the Poplin shop, then proceed to the cloud zone, and approach his Brigade Tent on the pink cloud.
Larry’s Showdown
After defeating Lemmy, move on to World 3’s Shining Falls. The Brigade Tent is located in the central open area, right between The Sharp Trial: Launch to Victory and The Sugarstar Trial. To find it, follow the path that leads upward past the Crouching High Jump Badge Challenge, crossing the river, and unlocking new levels along the way. When you reach the open area, the tent is right in the middle, just above the other two trials.
Larry’s level is a modified version of The Midway Trial: Hop to It with added crystal blocks and enemies. His Wonder Power transforms him into a giant puppet, commanding smaller Koopa Troopas pulling his strings, which makes the fight more intense.
Roy’s Showdown
Roy’s boss fight is in Sunbaked Desert in Wonder’s fourth world. This area is sprawling, and finding the Brigade Tent can be tricky because it isn’t near the entrance or in a clear open space. Once you’ve crossed the bridge into the main open desert area, head straight along the oasis area to the eastern border. There, you’ll find a staircase going up onto some buildings. The Tent is at the base of this staircase. Interact with it to start Roy’s battle.
Roy’s Wonder Power turns him into a giant ghost, with a ghostly galleon floating behind him, attacking with Fish Bones and summoning waves of enemies. To deal with the ship’s attacks, it’s helpful to activate the Flower Pot power-up beforehand, as the large flowers can clear out Fish Bones and other enemies.
Iggy’s Showdown
In W5 The Fungi Mines, Iggy awaits in an area that can be overlooked. The Brigade Tent is actually above on the surface, not hidden in the mines. After crossing the bridge at the start, go between the two initial levels and down into the mines — but be aware that this bypasses the Tent. Instead, continue along the surface path, past the Light-Switch Mansion, and keep heading forward until you reach the open area. Once there, look to the right at the first open section, where the Tent is perched on the surface in plain sight.
Inside Iggy’s level, which is a transformed version of Upshroom Downshroom, Iggy uses his Wonder Power to summon giant Piranha Plants. The stage is more difficult due to added enemies and obstacles. Use the flower power-up to bounce on the summoned plants and navigate more safely.
Morton’s Showdown
Morton’s boss fight occurs in Deep Magma Bog. This was the most difficult Koopalings’ location to discover because it’s deep within the world, not near the entrance. After progressing through the initial path, head right and then down in the maze of the Magma Bog. Keep going until reaching the bottom area, where the path leads past the Flying Battleship. Morton’s Brigade Tent is on the right side near some Flower Coins. Crossing that path leads into the stage where the giant puppet Morton, with his Wonder Power, commands smaller Koopa Troopas and manipulates heat and magma hazards.
Ludwig’s Showdown
The final new boss fight is against Ludwig, located in W6. His level features a high-level difficulty, as he transforms into a giant cloud using wind, along with lightning attacks. The Tent is at the top of the castle area, reached by navigating platforms beyond the Color-Switch Dungeon and other trial stages. After passing through these, approach the staircase leading up to Ludwig’s castle. The Brigade Tent is at the base of these steps. Defeating Ludwig restores all seven Bellabel Flowers. You can replay his fight later by visiting the signpost in front of the fast-travel flower in Bellabel Park.
Once all seven boss fights are completed and the Bellabel Flowers returned, you regain full access to the arch in Bellabel Park and can replay any of these stages whenever you want.
