While playing Cronos: The New Dawn, we’re not entirely sure who the main character is—are they even human? But one thing is clear: they seem to love cats. Occasionally, you’ll come across small cats, often trapped in rooms or hard-to-reach places. It’s worth trying to rescue them.
The thing about these cats is that they aren’t just optional collectibles to pet. Each one always drops something valuable when you interact with it. So, let’s jump right in and see where these cats are hiding in the game.
Where to Find All Cats
There are ten cats to discover in Cronos: The New Dawn. You might hear them before you see them because they make sounds when you’re close. Many of these cats serve as guides, leading you through different situations. You might catch a quick glimpse of them before they dash off to a hidden spot.
When you find a cat, don’t forget to pet it. Doing so will earn you a valuable item, such as an upgrade core or a key to another area.
As you progress in finding cats, they’ll tend to gather in the living room near your safe room in the Terminal. You can watch and pet them here, but they won’t give you anything else. Still, they look adorable.
Borówka
The first cat is impossible to miss. You’ll find Borówka in The Underground Station after unlocking a door that requires a key. Petting the cat will reward you with a healing item.
Mela
While exploring Sector D-3, in front of the building with the Dive Point, you’ll see a locked door. To get the cat here, first find a bolt cutter at the nearby hardware store. After collecting the tool, leave the hardware store, go past the small plaza, and return to the door. The cat will then give you the Traveler’s Seal Key. This key unlocks a red-screen door where you can find materials and ammo.
Karol
Karol appears the first time you go back to the past while trying to extract Edward. Once you find the Shelter’s Key, go to the left from that point and open the locked door on the plaza, near the benches and swings. The cat here gives you a Core.
Cynamon
After restoring the two generators in Station A, you can take the tram. Before boarding, head to the opposite side of the tram via a path made of benches. There, you’ll find a door that was previously locked. Entering this room reveals Cynamon, who leaves behind another Core.
Merlin
After acquiring the Gravity Boots, you’ll need to escape the Isolation Zone by jumping across Gravity Platforms. One of these platforms leads to a deserted building. Enter and pet the cat inside to receive a new Core.
Balbina
While searching for the switchgear after extracting Artur or his brother, you’ll pass through a restaurant. Before turning on the power, find a locked door with a red light. When you restore the power, the door will unlock and Balbina will be inside. Petting her will reward you with a Core.
Gus
On your way to Unity Hospital, you need to find two fuses to open a gate during a wave of enemies. Afterward, by walking on a gravity surface near a building marked with “28,” find a covered Gravity Platform made of wood. Destroy the planks and jump onto it. Inside the building, you’ll find Gus, who will leave a Core when petted.
Bebola
After getting the Access Card at Unity Hospital, return to the locked door of the Operation Block. Move through the hall with enemies of various sizes, turn right, and proceed through each room along the only path until you find Bebola. Petting the cat will give you a Core.
India
While turning on the second generator at Station B, unlock a chained door using the bolt cutter and explore the area. After facing some large enemies, enter the store on your left titled “Electrodomestics,” turn on the power, then go back to the bar “Beer, Wine, and Press.” Look for a wall covered with wood and break through it to find India, who will give you the key to the toy store.
Freya
Once you acquire the key to the Cemetery in The Abbey, open that door and move forward. Ignore the voice of the old woman you hear and instead enter the building in front of you, which requires a bolt cutter. Inside, turn right to find a crack in the wall. When you approach, Freya will be happy to see you and will give you a Rusty Key, which can be used in the Father’s office.
