Resident Evil Requiem is the newest game in the horror series, where you play as newcomer Grace Ashcroft and familiar character Leon Kennedy. As with past titles, you’ll need to search the game world for items, weapons, consumables, and puzzle pieces if you want any chance of surviving the undead onslaught.
One collectible you should keep an eye out for is charms. These small trinkets can be equipped to specific weapons to either boost their power or change how they behave, making it easier to fend off tougher enemies. Here’s a guide to where to find each charm and what it does.
Every Charm Location
Eye Spy Charm
Location: East Wing — Chunk’s dead body.
This charm is the easiest to obtain. To get it, you need to defeat Chunk, who roams the east wing of the care center. When told to go to the second-floor conference room, wait for Chunk to attack, then turn around and head back to the safe room on your right. Chunk will appear in the doorway, but he’s too big to fit through, making the next steps easier. Use your weapons to shoot him in the head three times on normal difficulty to kill him, or use three hemolytic injectors if you’re low on ammo. Hide behind the safe room, shoot or inject Chunk, then hide again until he’s defeated. The charm is where he dies and increases your chance of surviving fatal damage—just having it in your inventory grants this benefit.
Stakeout Takeout Charm
Location: Pantry — First floor in the West Wing.
This charm is found in the pantry, which is locked when you first arrive. To unlock it, you’ll need to kill the large chef zombie wandering around the kitchen, dining room, and parlor. Like Chunk, you can use your weapons or injectors to take him down. Alternatively, as Leon, you can wait until you arrive at the care center and use his stronger arsenal. Once defeated, pick up the key he drops and unlock the pantry door. Inside, on a metal shelf in the back right corner, you’ll find the charm. It boosts the damage and duration of your knife, making it one of the best overall charms.
Connoisseur Charm
Location: Pantry — First floor in the West Wing (once you explore more as Leon).
After defeating Chunk and entering the hospital, instead of heading to Gideon’s office, go down to the first-floor pantry again. If the door was locked for Grace, you’ll need to kill the chef zombie to get the key. Once inside, find a large cabinet on the west wall, interact with it, and watch Leon pry it open with his axe. Inside, you’ll find the Connoisseur charm, which enhances any gun’s damage when equipped.
BSAA Charm
Location: Raccoon City — BSAA Container across from the Applegate Hotel and cafe.
Available once you’re in Raccoon City as Leon. Search for the corpses of BSAA agents, and you’ll find the BSAA Container Key on one. Use this key to open shipping containers around the city. One container is near the hotel where you fought the giant spider boss. To reach it, gather the gas can and fuel, use them to open nearby doors, and follow the subway tunnels back to the hotel. Inside the container, you’ll find the BSAA charm, which increases damage for sniper rifles that lack a scope.
S.T.A.R.S. Emblem Charm
Location: Raccoon Police Department — Locker in the West Office.
Progress through Raccoon City until you reach the Police Department. Start Barry’s scavenger hunt by finding photos in the second-floor S.T.A.R.S. Office. Go to the Operations Room on the first floor, face a suspended TV, and find a key on the TV stand. Use pallets to reach the key, then go to the West Office and unlock the only locker that isn’t destroyed. Inside, the S.T.A.R.S. Emblem charm increases automatic weapon damage but causes more weapon sway when aiming.
Power Shades Charm
Location: Raccoon Police Department — S.T.A.R.S. Office.
While in the police station, access the armory in the back of the S.T.A.R.S. Office. Examine the briefcase along the north wall and enter the code RRR. Inside is the Power Shades charm, granting unlimited bullet penetration and boosting damage of the last shot fired—a great perk.
Cute Bear Charm
Location: Raccoon Police Department — Parking Garage.
This charm is available during the final campaign section in the garage. After the Mr. X chase sequence, leave the police station through the back, then go left instead of into the gun store. Head around the rubble and down the ramp into the parking garage. Find the large shipping container illuminated by a floor light. Turn right at the light, then look for the rubble to the left of the destroyed van. Among the debris, you’ll find the Cute Bear charm. It enhances mid-range damage and performance for shotguns but reduces their close-range strength.
Rugged Rookie and Trusted Companion Charms
Requirements:
- Rugged Rookie: Spend 6,500 Challenge Points (CP).
- Trusted Companion: Kill 300 enemies.
Both charms are also available in the Special Content shop. The Rugged Rookie boosts overall weapon damage; you earn CP by completing challenges, like finding all Mr. Raccoon statues or completing the game on higher difficulties. The Trusted Companion increases bullet penetration for handguns and is earned by defeating 300 enemies—this can take multiple playthroughs, and it doesn’t matter how the enemies are killed, just that they’re defeated by you.
This guide should help you locate each charm and understand their effects, making your next run through Resident Evil Requiem more effective and enjoyable.
