If you enjoy causing explosions, you’ll want to upgrade your Explosive Station in Arc Raiders. It offers a good range of grenade options and requires several materials of different rarity levels that you need to collect. One of the later materials is Laboratory Reagents, and you’ll need three of them to upgrade to Explosive Station III.
Here are some top spots I recommend for finding safe bottles of chemical materials to add to your backpack filled with explosives and sharp objects.
Where to Find Laboratory Reagents
Laboratory Reagents are classified as Medical materials, which means you have a higher chance of finding them at points of interest marked with a plus sign icon. Some key locations include:
- Hospital and Research areas in Buried City
- Testing Annex in Dam Battlegrounds
Among these, the Hospital is the most popular because it’s the only major location dedicated solely to Medical items. This results in a larger loot pool with less competition from other types of items, giving you a better shot at finding what you need. However, since it’s so popular, many players visit often, and it’s common to encounter Raiders hanging around.
If you’re playing solo, this might be advantageous since most players tend to be passive and hesitant to fight. While there’s no guarantee you won’t get hurt, in all my solo runs at the Hospital, I haven’t experienced a gunfight yet.
Teams of three tend to be more aggressive, so be prepared for a tougher challenge.
Quick Escape Tips
Both the Hospital and Testing Annex have nearby lifts and tunnels—use these for quick escapes if you’re in trouble.
Other Locations
Research locations in Buried City are decent alternatives, thanks to multiple floors you can loot and fewer ARC enemies. Plaza Rosa also shows the Medical icon, but I haven’t found any Laboratory Reagents there, and ARC tends to be swarming outside the buildings.

Additional Tips
For a change of scenery, I recommend the Testing Annex in Dam Battlegrounds. It’s my favorite spot for finding Medical items. Though smaller than the Hospital, its second floor is packed with lootable drawers, bins, and desks—where I’ve found most of my Medical supplies like Rusted Shut Medical Kits, Antiseptics, and Laboratory Reagents.
Avoid Spaceport and The Blue Gate if you’re specifically farming Medical materials—they don’t have dedicated spots for these items, making them less efficient for this purpose.
Remember
Laboratory Reagents are not guaranteed drops, even if you clean out spots like the Hospital entirely. Sometimes, luck isn’t on your side, so don’t get frustrated if it takes a few tries to gather all three bottles you need.
