Like most survival games, your chances of staying alive in StarRupture depend heavily on where you build your base. You should choose a location with plenty of resources nearby — so you don’t have to go far to gather what you need — and with large ore deposits in the area.
The best starting locations are fairly easy to find, but expanding into other areas may require some effort. Here’s everything you need to know about setting up your first base in StarRupture.
### Where to Set Up Your First Base
When you start exploring in StarRupture, the area right outside your ship is the perfect spot. You don’t want to travel too far from your initial location because resources like food, water, and basic supplies aren’t plentiful at first.
Make sure your initial base is close to these essentials:
– Hydrobulbs for hydration
– Polifruit for hunger
– Titanium Ore
– Wolfram Ore
These four resources are vital during your first days. You can mine the ore, refine it, and craft items to send to different corporations. As you gain levels within each corporation, you’ll unlock new machines, features, or items that will help you progress and make gameplay easier.
The first area after your ship not only has deposits of Titanium and Wolfram Ore for mining but also features underground caves with rare resources. Nearby, there’s an abandoned base with important loot and blueprints to discover. As you level up and start working for more advanced contracts, you’ll need to venture further, gathering resources like Calcium.
StarRupture’s layout encourages exploration without forcing you to do it prematurely. You can take your time to grow stronger before venturing too far.
There is a large Calcium ore deposit near your initial base. You can use a rail system to transport materials back to your main base or establish another base at the site. As you explore deeper into the map, more ore deposits become available, including sites for Helium-3—accessible after completing a level 6 contract with the Selenian corporation—and Sulfur, which requires completing the level 9 contract.
While you don’t need to build a base at every ore site, placing them periodically will help prevent getting stranded during rupture waves. Always carry Meteorite Hearts, basic building materials, ammunition, and food in your personal inventory to be prepared for emergencies.
