If you’ve been completing side missions regularly, you might know that the Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC added about 100 more of them. These unlock gradually as you finish main story missions. However, if you haven’t been keeping track, there’s a secret 200th Side Mission that only becomes available after completing all the previous 199.
After finishing every other side mission, return to Hotel Z. You’ll receive a call from either Taunie or Urbain. They are at Quasartico Inc. and need you to find a password they’ve written down in their hotel room. Head upstairs to their room to begin.
Side Mission 200: Here In Lumiose City
When you arrive at Taunie or Urbain’s room, locate the password on a stack of files on their bed. Memorize it, because they will ask for it later, offering multiple-choice options. After giving them the password, go back downstairs to the lobby. Taunie or Urbain will meet you there with Jett.
Once you’ve spoken with your rivals and Jett, the rival will challenge you to one last battle outside the hotel. Be prepared before starting this final fight. Aside from usual preparations like stocking healing items, make sure your entire team is maxed out.
While you could attempt this fight with under-leveled Pokémon, it will be much more difficult since their team will all be level 100—the strongest rival fight in the game. If you’ve used most of your team for the DLC, this shouldn’t be an issue. Otherwise, you can grind EXP Candy in Hyperspace Distortions to bring your Pokémon up to maximum level.
Having a well-rounded team is key, and you’ll want to make sure you have several Mega Evolutions ready. Your rival will depend on your initial character choice and starter, and they will have many Mega Evolved Pokémon, often swapping them out during battle. This makes the fight more complex than previous trainer battles.
Their team will include Pokémon like Mega Meowstic (which varies based on your gender choice), Goodra, Avalugg, Mega Manectric, and certain starter Pokémon like Meganium, Emboar, or Feraligatr, depending on your choices. These rivals will also Mega Evolve all their Pokémon capable of it and frequently switch them during the fight, adding an extra layer of challenge.
Most of your previous battles involved your opponent Mega Evolving a single Pokémon, but this final challenge requires you to adapt to multiple Mega Evolutions and potential Pokémon swaps. Stick with your current team if it’s well-balanced; only swap out Pokémon to gain type advantages, keeping in mind they might do the same.
It’s recommended to have at least three or four Mega Evolutions on your team for this fight. Approach it like any other trainer battle—stay alert and keep your heals ready. Persistence is key; it might take a few tries. Always Mega Evolve your Pokémon as often as possible and focus on type advantages.
Once you defeat your rival, they’ll invite you to the roof for a final chat. This is your chance to look back on your journey through Pokémon Legends: Z-A and the Mega Dimension DLC, which is often viewed as the true ending of the game.
