The world of Hytale is filled with all sorts of creatures, big and small. Some are friendly, while others are dangerous and can attack you. All these creatures are part of Orbis, the world and deity behind everything. However, she has been locked away by the Void and its curse.

The only way to help restore her and bring balance back to the world is by collecting her Memories. These are fragments of power that record every creature you encounter, from tiny mice to giant Void Spawn. She needs you to gather these Memories and return them to her. Doing so will help heal the world and earn you nice rewards.

Hytale is currently in Early Access, so some details might change when the game is updated.

### How to Unlock Memories
Memories let you record enemies and passive mobs from across Orbis, then exchange them at the Heart of Orbis for rewards like decorative blocks and potions.

You can unlock this system after your first interaction with the Heart of Orbis, which is located at the Forgotten Temple—a special realm accessed through a portal at the Forgotten Temple Gateway. You can hold up to 48 Memories at a time, stored in the Memories tab of your inventory.

While the Forgotten Temple Gateways are protected by Earthen Golems, you don’t need to defeat them to pass through. Killing Golems can be beneficial since they drop Emeralds and Green Crystal Shards, but they’re not hard to beat.

These Gateways are important markers on your map and are always visible on the locator bar at the top of the screen. One will appear near your spawn point, and others can spawn throughout the world. Each Gateway has at least one loot chest on the second floor.

### Inside the Forgotten Temple
Once you arrive, go through the blue portal on the ground floor to enter the temple. Walk up to the Heart of Orbis statue in the center of the island and interact with it. This allows you to record new memories, check your existing ones, see categories, and track where you encountered each entity.

### How to Get New Memories
To unlock new Memories, get within five to six blocks of an entity you haven’t recorded before. Some mobs, especially flying birds, need to be seen at least twice since Memories aren’t recorded until you interact with the Heart of Orbis. Most basic mobs require only one sighting.

Since many bird mobs stay in the sky and don’t land, you might need to climb a tree or build a pillar up to them to capture a Memory.

### Rewards for Memories
When you record enough Memories at the Heart of Orbis, you unlock various rewards. These include eternal vegetable seeds that grow endlessly, the ability to place more Teleporters, and other upgrades.

Note that not all entities spawn naturally, and some rewards are not fully available yet or only partially accessible. For example, certain chests are unlocked at 100 Memories.

### Memory Rewards Overview
– At 10 Memories, you can earn small chests, seed bags (like Wheat and Lettuce, eternal), and other small rewards.
– At 25 Memories, additional chests, seed bags for carrots, corn, cauliflower, and turnip, plus the ability to increase your maximum Teleporter count.
– At 50 Memories, more chests, seed bags for aubergines, pumpkins, tomatoes, and chilis, plus potion rewards like morphing potions and an increase in Teleporter capacity.
– At 100 Memories, special decorative chests, more seed bags, backpacks, ancient gateways, and portal fragments.
– At 200 Memories, the most significant rewards including trophies, more chests, and Teleporter upgrades.

Most entities won’t spawn naturally, and some rewards are still being worked on or only partially available.
