Are you looking to expand your town in MySims? Bringing new residents into your community is easier than you might think—if you know where to start. Buddy, the only staff member at the hotel, is around to observe the newcomers, but don’t expect him to handle everything for you. It’s up to you to find the ideal residents for your town.

Take your time when making your choices. Each Sim has a distinct personality and set of skills that can benefit your community. Ready to welcome someone new? We’ll help you navigate the steps to invite a guest to settle in and begin building their future home.

How to Move in Sims

Moving Sims involves the Town Hotel, which serves as the main gathering place for potential new residents. Managed by Buddy, the lone hotel worker, this two-story building is where new Sims arrive, giving you the opportunity to meet and choose your future neighbors.

Keep in mind that you don’t have access to the second floor, as it is designated for Buddy and registered guests.

The Town Hotel can accommodate anywhere from one to five new Sims, depending on your town’s Star Level. Higher Star Levels open up more options for residents, while lower levels will restrict how many guests can appear.

If you’ve already invited all the Sims you can as per your current Star Level, no new guests will appear until you either boost your town’s Star Level or decide to let a current resident leave.

To welcome a new Sim into your town, you’ll need to interact with a guest at the hotel and invite them to join your community. After they agree, the next step is to select a vacant lot for their new home. Explore the town, find the ideal spot, and once you’ve made your choice, select ‘Move in Sim.’
