The **Shadow Sunflower Blossom** is a massive weapon introduced in the *Elden Ring* game, particularly with the *Shadow of the Erdtree* DLC. Shaped like the head of a gigantic sunflower, this weapon becomes available when you exchange the remembrance of a specific boss at the Roundtable Hold.
Colossal weapons like the Sunflower Blossom are known for their tremendous power, but they come with a hefty challenge in terms of handling. In fact, acquiring this weapon involves taking down an optional hidden boss.
This guide will walk you through the process of obtaining the Shadow Sunflower Blossom and show you how to build an impressive Faith-focused character that can obliterate any boss that crosses your path.
Finding the Shadow Sunflower Blossom in *Elden Ring*

To get the Shadow Sunflower Blossom, you need to exchange the Remembrance of the Shadow Sunflower with Enia at the Roundtable Hold.
You can obtain this remembrance by defeating the Scadutree Avatar located at the Scadutree Base. To reach this area, head over to the Church District within the Shadow Keep.

Once you arrive at the Church District Entrance site of grace, navigate across the rooftops to reach a room at the opposite side.

Keep an eye out for Fire Blobs and Fire Knights while making your way across. Drop down into the house and take your second left after dispatching yet another Fire Knight.
Ascend the stairs on the left, climb the ladder, and look for a lever. Pulling this lever will drain the water in the Church District.

After draining the water, drop down and retrace your steps to enter the hut. Use the platforms to access the Church District, and continue until you find a small altar on the other side.

Open the door to find a small lift that will take you down. Cross the wooden bridge and follow the path through a cave to finally arrive at the Scadutree Base.

The Scadutree Avatar is a formidable opponent, featuring three distinct phases, each with full health. The battle kicks off with thorn attacks and sweeping strikes, followed by charge attacks and devastating slams to the ground.

Keep your focus on its head and dodge the incoming strikes. As the boss transitions into the second phase, its aggression escalates with the introduction of magical attacks that are quicker and more powerful. The final phase begins with a devastating blast, which can easily eliminate players.

Maintain your distance and strike only during openings. Defeating the Scadutree Avatar yields the Remembrance of the Shadow Sunflower and Miquella’s Great Rune.
Take this remembrance to Enia at the Roundtable Hold to receive the Shadow Sunflower Blossom weapon free of charge.
Shadow Sunflower Blossom: Stats and Requirements
This weapon is designed for Strength and Faith builds, necessitating a minimum of 25 Faith, 24 Strength, and 8 Dexterity to wield it effectively. It has D scaling for both Strength and Faith, and E scaling for Dexterity.

The unique skill associated with this weapon is called **Shadow Sunflower Headbutt**, which costs 16 FP. This move allows you to slam the weapon into the ground, creating a shockwave. You can use this skill repeatedly, consuming FP and Stamina.
Keep in mind that this colossal weapon cannot be infused with any Ash of War nor can it have any magic or grease applied to it. The Sunflower Blossom can be upgraded to +10 using Somber Smithing Stones.
Base damage starts at 114 Physical and 114 Holy damage. After upgrades, this can increase to a maximum of 279 Physical and 279 Holy damage.
The Shadow Sunflower Blossom has a weight of 16 and can be sold to any merchant for 500 Runes; however, we advise against selling it since it’s a unique boss weapon that you can only obtain once in a playthrough.
Optimal Build for Shadow Sunflower Blossom
For an effective build using the Shadow Sunflower Blossom, you’ll want to have it fully upgraded, paired with the Erdtree Seal, to cast a variety of incantations.
This is an endgame setup ideal for characters at least level 180. Distribute your stats as follows:
- Vigor: 50
- Endurance: 30
- Strength: 40
- Faith: 80
To amplify your build’s effectiveness, equip these talismans:
- Two-Headed Green Turtle Talisman: Boosts stamina recovery speed by 22.5%.
- Sacred Scorpion Charm: Increases Holy attack power by 12%, with a trade-off in physical defense.
- Shard of Alexander: Enhances skill attack power by 15%.
- Carian Filigreed Crest: Cuts FP costs for skills by 25%.
Wear armor that provides substantial protection without hindering your roll speed. For your Flask of Wondrous Physick, mix these crystal tears:
- Holy Shrouding Cracked Tear: Increases Holy attack power.
- Opaline Hardtear: Boosts defense against all damage types to balance out the Sacred Scorpion Charm’s drawback.
With this configuration, you’ll be dishing out significant Holy damage to enemies and bosses alike. Certain bosses, such as the Promised Consort Radahn, are particularly vulnerable to Holy attacks, making this build an advantageous choice.
