The “Seriously” achievement has been a long-standing tradition in the Gears of War series. Now, with Gears of War: Reloaded, it’s made its way to PlayStation and the trophies system. These achievements are usually the hardest to earn because they require a lot of time and effort. To unlock the “Seriously…” trophy in Gears of War: Reloaded, you need to get 10,000 kills in multiplayer matches.
No matter how you look at it, earning Seriously will take a very long time. Some older guides might suggest playing only ranked matches for kills, but that is no longer necessary. Kills in any multiplayer versus match count toward the total, which you can track through your PS5 trophy list or the PlayStation app. Since Gears of War: Reloaded is now available, preparing for that platinum trophy means spending plenty of time in multiplayer.
Objective-based game modes are the best for racking up kills
Two modes work best for this: Blitz and King of the Hill. These game types tend to push players toward each other, making it easier to get multiple kills. In contrast, modes like Team Deathmatch have a preset kill limit per round, and you’re competing against other players for those kills.
Blitz and King of the Hill allow you to get many more kills in a shorter amount of time, with less downtime between rounds. In Blitz, you need to stay inside an objective circle to score points, which can keep the game going longer if you perform well. This makes Blitz potentially the best choice for grinding kills efficiently.
Master the Gnasher, but don’t overlook power weapons
To consistently get kills in Reloaded’s multiplayer, you’ll need to become very skilled with the Gnasher shotgun. It’s the most dominant weapon in Gears of War’s multiplayer history, especially for close-range fights. Hip-firing the Gnasher is crucial — you’ll probably lose most shootouts where you’re outnumbered if you’re not proficient with it.
Getting comfortable with the Gnasher also involves mastering the movement mechanics in Reloaded. Practice bouncing off cover and turning corners quickly to dodge enemy fire. Moving swiftly when entering cover is key to staying alive.
However, don’t ignore power weapons if you want to rack up kills faster. In modes like Blitz and King of the Hill, weapons like the Boomshot or Hammer of Dawn can take out multiple enemies at once and help you gain points towards your kill count. Learning the map layouts and where weapons spawn is essential for new players.
Achieving the platinum trophy means earning 10,000 kills, which is a significant challenge. It can become dull over time, but sticking with Blitz and King of the Hill and always keeping a Gnasher handy is your best shot at reaching that milestone.
