With every update, new weapons are being introduced in Destiny 2. While the Nightfall strike pool may not always be the most current, its loot table remains impressive. This week, specifically during the week of March 11, 2025, the featured weapon is the Lotus-Eater, a newly minted Rocket-Powered Frame Sidearm that offers some solid rolls.
Lotus-Eater is notable for being the first Void Rocket Sidearm, completing the set of subclasses to receive this archetype. It’s on par with its Strand and Arc siblings and can even surpass The Call’s top-tier rolls in terms of add-clear effectiveness. Fortunately, you can expect Lotus-Eater to be available throughout this episode and likely until the next Destiny 2 expansion is released.
Acquiring Lotus-Eater & Adept Version
Complete Grandmaster Nightfalls for Adept While the Base Version is More Accessible
The standard version of Lotus-Eater can be obtained by completing any Nightfall Strike. This means you’ll have a chance to get it regardless of the difficulty level. Feel free to farm the standard difficulty until you secure the preferred roll of Lotus-Eater or any other Nightfall weapons. Remember, the Nightfall rotation changes weekly, so if you prefer an easier challenge, just wait for the weekly reset.
To obtain the Adept variant of any Nightfall weapon, you’ll need to wait for it to appear in the weekly rotation. Lotus-Eater is featured for the weeks of March 11, May 6, and July 1, so be sure to successfully complete a GM Nightfall during any of those weeks before the following week’s reset to claim an Adept version. Adept versions come with additional perks, allowing you to choose between two perks in each column, along with unique mods, so if you’re seeking a stronger Lotus-Eater, aim for that.
Adept Lotus-Eater Stats & Rolls
Customization Based on Your Playstyle
As with all weapons in Destiny 2, the “god roll” for the Lotus-Eater will depend on your intended use. Being a burst-damage Sidearm, it excels at clearing adds. This means you’ll want to aim for perks that deliver elemental damage or create blasts around your targets. With that in mind, here’s an ideal roll to chase:
Barrel |
Volatile Launch |
---|---|
Magazine Type |
Tactical Mag or High Explosive Ordinance |
Perk 1 |
Repulsor Brace or Reconstruction |
Perk 2 |
Destabilizing Rounds or Withering Gaze |
While Destabilizing Rounds is a solid choice, if you’re not interested in triggering Volatile damage and big Void explosions, you may consider a Withering Gaze roll instead. The Repulsor Brace perk grants a Void overshield whenever you defeat an enemy that is debuffed with Void damage, and if you combine this with Volatile effects from Destabilizing Rounds, you’ll have a reliable source for sustaining your Void overshield as long as there are enemies to dispatch.
If the overshield doesn’t interest you, looking for Reconstruction can be a good alternative. This will automatically fill your magazine, ensuring sustained fire and auto-reloading while your weapon is stowed. While this is useful, you’ll likely find that Destabilizing Rounds offers superior add-clear capabilities. Regardless of which roll you manage to obtain, the Lotus-Eater is set to remain a strong option as we move into Destiny 2‘s Frontiers expansions this upcoming year.
