World of Warcraft: Midnight is finally here, bringing a lot of new content to explore. This is the second part of a three-part story in the popular MMO.
Along with the usual new dungeons, a endgame raid, a large story to follow, and an upcoming season of player-versus-player battles, there’s even more to find and unlock.
One of the first things you might want to do is unlock the Haranir as a playable Allied Race. Players were introduced to the Haranir in The War Within story, where they are shown as ancient protectors of the Rootway. They look great, and they are now available for play for the first time. Here’s what you need to know to unlock the Haranir and start leveling your first one.
How to unlock the Haranir in WoW: Midnight
The process to unlock the Haranir is fairly simple but does require some time. The main requirement is to complete the entire Harandar Campaign, which includes three questlines.
Here are the detailed steps for each part:

- Rise of the Haranir
This is quite a long list of quests, but they mostly follow a straight path. If you set aside about four hours, you should be able to complete everything without much trouble. During the campaign, the portal back to Harandar will be in Fairbreeze Village until it moves permanently to Silvermoon City after finishing the story.
Once completed, you’ll earn the Allied Race: Haranir achievement. This also gives you access to a new mount — the Ivory Grimlynx.
Haranir Allied Race Available Classes
Just like other races, the Haranir can’t operate in every class. If you decide to start a new character with this race, you will be able to choose from the following classes:
- Druid
- Hunter
- Mage
- Monk
- Priest
- Rogue
- Shaman
- Warlock
- Warrior
That gives you nine out of the thirteen total classes, which is a solid selection. Most of the classes are unavailable for lore reasons.
That’s all you need to get started! Keep an eye out for more guides on WoW Midnight as we get closer to the launch of Season One on March 17.
