The Fire Knight’s Greatsword is a unique weapon tailored for the fire knights, and it’s one of the exciting new additions introduced with the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC in Elden Ring. This sword features a slender blade that shimmers like flames and is infused with fire incantations by Messmer.
Greatswords can be tricky to wield in Elden Ring; they are heavyweight and not the easiest weapons to master. As a result, players often integrate them into Strength or Dexterity builds.
This guide will walk you through how to farm the Fire Knight’s Greatsword effectively and how to leverage it for creating an impressive Faith build in Elden Ring that boasts incredible Attack Rating (AR).
Where to Find the Fire Knight’s Greatsword in Elden Ring

You can acquire the Fire Knight’s Greatsword as a rare drop from the Fire Knights located in the Shadow Keep dungeon. This dungeon is essential and can be found in the central area of Scadu Altus.
The optimal approach to finding this greatsword is to start at the Specimen Storehouse site of grace. Follow our instructions to navigate there safely.
Once you arrive at the site of grace, turn around and take the elevator down. You’ll encounter a formidable Fire Knight enemy in this area, who carries the Fire Knight’s Greatsword.

Continue to farm this enemy as many times as necessary. Using the Blasphemous Blade’s weapon skill allows you to take down this Fire Knight from a distance. The drop rate of the Fire Knight’s Greatsword is relatively low—approximately 4%—so it’s wise to consume a Silver Pickled Fowl Foot to boost your item discovery.

You can also invest in Arcane to enhance your Discovery stat. Items such as the Silver Scarab, Silver Tear Mask, Albinauric’s Mask, or Godrick’s Great Rune can further raise your Discovery, making it easier to obtain the Fire Knight’s Greatsword.
Fire Knight’s Greatsword: Stats and Requirements
This sword is best suited for builds that focus on Strength and Dexterity, requiring 22 Strength, 18 Dexterity, and 12 Faith to wield effectively.

It boasts a D scaling across all three attributes, allowing for versatile use. The greatsword’s weapon skill, Stamp (upward cut), requires 5 FP to execute but can be swapped for any compatible Ash of War.
This weapon can also be enchanted with magic or grease, and it can be upgraded to +25 using Smithing Stones. At the base level, it inflicts 147 Physical damage and 44 Fire damage, which can be improved to 360 Physical and 107 Fire damage at maximum level.
Weighing in at 16, the sword can be sold for 200 Runes at any merchant, making it one of the top choices for a Fire Affinity weapon in the game.
The Ultimate Build for the Fire Knight’s Greatsword
For this build, you’ll want a fully upgraded Fire Knight’s Greatsword infused with Fire Affinity. This is designed for a level 180+ character, and you should allocate your stats as follows:
- Vigor: 60
- Dexterity: 18
- Strength: 22
- Faith: 80
With high Faith, equip a fully upgraded Erdtree Seal to cast powerful incantations before engaging enemies.
Use the following Talismans to amplify your damage:
- Two-Handed Sword Talisman: Boosts attack damage by 15% when wielding two-handed weapons.
- Fire Scorpion Charm: Increases Fire attack power by 12%.
- Rotten Winged Sword Insignia: Enhances attack power with each successive hit.
- Great Jar’s Arsenal: Raises your maximum equip load.
Don the Rakshasa Set, as each piece enhances attack power by 2%, giving you an additional 8% boost overall.
For your Flask of the Wondrous Physick, mix these crystal tears:
- Flame Shrouding Cracked Tear: Amplifies attack power for Fire attacks.
- Thorny Cracked Tear: Boosts attack power for each consecutive strike by up to 17%.
With this setup, you’ll deal upwards of 1800 damage per hit to your foes. If you’re facing enemies weak to fire, such as the Putrescent Knight, this damage can exceed 2,000, establishing the Fire Knight’s Greatsword build as one of the most formidable in Elden Ring.
