How to Get the Ancient Shovel

The Ancient Shovel is a key tool in Roblox’s Dig It game. Introduced with the Volkayno update, it surpasses even the legendary Meteor Shovel in terms of performance. This shovel boasts exceptional stats, making it the best option available in the game. With the right enchantment, you can enhance its capabilities even further.

However, acquiring the Ancient Shovel is no easy feat. You’ll need to dig extensively and complete several quests. Additionally, reaching a minimum level of 120 and accumulating enough in-game currency to buy the shovel when available is crucial. This guide will provide detailed information on everything you need to know to obtain this powerful tool.

How to Get the Ancient Shovel

You can purchase the Ancient Shovel at The Oasis after completing errands for Oni, the local NPC. However, to get there, you first need to navigate through several areas and complete various quests. Let’s break down the necessary locations and tasks step by step.

Volkayno

Your journey begins in Volkayno. To reach this area, hop into your boat and head towards the island marked ‘Volkayno’ with a towering black volcano. Once you arrive, enter the cave located at the base of the volcano. Here, you’ll need to find the Molten Key to access the next area. This key activates the elevator on the right side of the cave.

The Molten Key is an Exotic item that you earn by completing the Volkayno collection, which includes collecting the Isopod mount. Dig around to uncover all the items in this collection. Use your best shovel and magnets to locate rare collectibles more easily. After obtaining the Molten Key, use it to access the elevator down to Devil’s Pit.

Devil’s Pit

Devil’s Pit is much larger than the previous area and features lava cliffs along with a dark atmosphere. Here, you’ll again need to obtain a key to access the next region. The Ancient Key is acquired by collecting all items in the Devil’s Pit collection.

While you’re in Devil’s Pit, grab a Power Resistance Potion, as you’ll need it to survive the extreme heat that will otherwise be lethal.

Stocking up on several of these potions is a smart move, as you will need protection until you acquire the Ancient Shovel.

To obtain the Power Resistance Potion, speak with Brewton NPC, who can be found near the cauldron at the entrance of Devil’s Pit. You’ll need to gather the following ingredients:

Hot Pepper x1
Lava Flower x1
Crystal x1
Lava Slime x1
Lava Bucket x1

You can find all of these items by digging in the Devil’s Pit area. Once you’ve gathered everything, return to Brewton, and he will give you the Power Resistance Potion. This potion lasts for 30 minutes, but it’s advisable to have several on hand since you’ll need them for the journey ahead. When you’re ready, and have the Ancient Key in hand, head to the gate at the far end of Devil’s Pit to access the Ancient Trial.

Ancient Trial

The Ancient Trial is likely the simplest area you’ll encounter. Instead of searching for items, you’ll navigate through a parkour course filled with various obstacles. If you’re familiar with this type of challenge, it shouldn’t take too many tries to clear. Successfully completing this section will lead you to The Oasis, where you can undertake the final quest and claim the Ancient Shovel.

The Oasis

The Oasis area is a small island where you’ll find the much-anticipated Ancient Shovel. However, you can’t simply walk up and grab it. First, you must finish the final quest given by Oni that resides nearby. Additionally, you must have completed The Oasis collection as a prerequisite to begin the quest.

Once you’ve completed these tasks, talk to Oni, located next to the Ancient Shovel. He will assign you the final task, which is to collect and return 20 Holy Treasures. These treasures can be found by digging with the Solar Shovel, which is needed to produce items with the Holy effect.
