Princess Aurora has officially made her debut in Disney Dreamlight Valley. However, access to her requires the Storybook Vale expansion pack. While players saw a glimpse of Maleficent at the end of Part 1, Aurora is only available in Part 2, titled The Unwritten Realms. This means you must complete all preceding quests before you can unlock her.
Spoiler Alert: This content includes spoilers for the conclusion of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Storybook Vale expansion.
To unlock Aurora, you’ll first need to have all biomes in Storybook Vale accessible and have finished the main story quests of Part 1. Building friendships with residents of Storybook Vale is also essential. Afterward, complete the first half of Part 2 and unlock Maleficent as a villager to move forward with Aurora’s quest.
The Missing Princess Quest
Talk to Villagers to Discover Aurora’s Fate
As made evident by her absence in Storybook Vale, Aurora is missing. To have the chance to unlock her, you must first find her. Begin by chatting with Flynn Rider, who, according to the Lorekeeper, was the last person to see her. After a brief exchange, he will send you on a search for some of Aurora’s missing diary pages.
While you may have collected several pages until now, the final ones won’t be available until you start this quest. To find the missing pages, look in these areas:
- Near the left side of Maleficent’s Castle entrance, by the water. You’ll see a piece of paper on the ground similar to previous entries.
- In the Elysian Fields, on the eastern side of the big fishing spot. This one will be marked as a digging spot, not a piece of paper.
- In The Bind, on the western side of the bridge that splits the area. Head to the far southwestern edge, where you’ll find a small waterfall with another digging spot in front of it.
Once you gather all the pieces, you’ll learn that Aurora last spoke with the Lorekeeper. When questioned, they will reveal that Aurora stepped into the tapestry on the wall behind them. Unfortunately, attempting to do the same, you’ll find that the tapestry will not recognize you as a hero like it did Aurora, which means you’ll need to prove yourself first.
A Hero of Ink & Paper Quest
Rescue Aurora by Becoming the Vale’s Hero
To become a hero, you need to retrieve scattered fairy tale books throughout the Vale. The first book is located in the small library corridor beneath the bridge in The Bind. The second can be found inside the crumbling fortress, just south of the portal in The Fallen Fortress. The third and final book can be found in Mount Olympus, on a small inclined path near the bridge that connects Mount Olympus to The Beanstalk Marshes.
Once you have all three books, return them to the Lorekeeper, who will instruct you to gather the necessary ingredients to craft the Hero of the Vale costume. Luckily, most of the materials are easy to find and you may already have a good deal of them. Besides the fabrics needed from Storybook Vale villagers, you’ll also need to collect some flowers and snippets from various biomes.
Keep in mind that not all flowers and snippets are found in every biome. For instance, you’ll not find Red Demon Snippets in the Elysian Fields of Mythopia. Check your collections tab in the menu to confirm where certain items can be found.
The only unusual item needed is Posidonia, found by fishing in open water, not designated fishing spots, in Mythopia. Once you’ve gathered everything, craft the new Storybook Vale costume at a crafting table. Since it counts as a furniture item for now, take it back to the Lorekeeper, who will then convert it into a clothing item for you to wear. This will allow you to enter the tapestry.
Complete the Trials of Virtue, Truth, & Song
Undergo a Trial with Each of the Three Fairies from Sleeping Beauty
Entering the tapestry, you will encounter three stained-glass windows representing the fairies from Sleeping Beauty. After speaking with them, you’ll learn that they’ve hidden Aurora, and to reach her, you must complete trials from each of them in order. The doors for the subsequent trial won’t open until the last is finished. To begin, head back into the main part of the castle and look for the newly accessible doors.
Trial | How To Complete | Image Reference |
---|---|---|
Trial of Virtue |
Talk to Merryweather’s stained-glass window. You’ll need to retrieve the Dragon’s Flame and the Knight’s Arm to finish the shadow outline on the wall. The flame can be found in the back corner, hidden behind some items. As for the arm, interact with the bookshelves on the left to reveal a secret room containing it. Return both items to their rightful places. Finally, use Furniture Mode to adjust the pieces so that the Knight is shielded and the Dragon breathes fire at it. When done, collect the Shield of Virtue. |

Trial of Truth |
Speak with Fauna’s stained-glass window. In this trial, you need to arrange the shadows using Furniture Mode to create an image that won’t frighten the animals. Place cage pieces around a stationary bird, and put Mickey Mouse ears on the lion. After that, prepare a meal for the Rabbit and Pegasus in the kitchen to the left of the stage. Pegasus Meal: Wheat, Barley, & Carrot. Rabbit Meal: Lettuce, Tomato, Carrot, & Cucumber. After feeding them, claim the Sword of Truth. |

Trial of Song |
Speak with Flora’s stained-glass window. This is another shadow puzzle. You need to position the dancers near Flora’s window and then head down the stairs to complete the puzzle with Furniture Mode. Arrange them in the order: Piano, Dancer, Cello, Harp, Dancer, and Lute. Once finished, you can take the Cap of Song. |
With all items secured, head back to the three fairies, equip the items they requested, and they will finally let you through the doors to meet the newest addition to Disney Dreamlight Valley, Princess Aurora.
Stop the Lorekeeper & Welcome Aurora
Return to the Unwritten Realms to Stop the Lorekeeper from Erasing Stories
Just moments after Aurora is introduced, the Lorekeeper will attempt to intervene, revealing their desire to sabotage your efforts. They confess to influencing Maleficent and Hades and targeting Aurora because she was becoming suspicious. To counter their plans, you’ll be pulled back into the Unwritten Realms to confront the Lorekeeper and put an end to their schemes once and for all.
Throughout each scene, you must engage with the Lorekeeper, who will activate various Snippets that you need to catch. After collecting all the required Snippets in a scene, continue until you meet the Lorekeeper again up a flight of stairs, where you’ll hold a final discussion. Eventually, you will emerge victorious, and be returned to Storybook Vale. The Lorekeeper will then acknowledge their defeat and ask you to solve one last lore puzzle.
Once completed, you’ll witness the grand ending of the Storybook Vale expansion and unlock Aurora as a villager. Unlike Maleficent, she arrives with a small cottage that you’ll need to construct with Scrooge. Once her cottage is built, feel free to relocate her anywhere you like, including Eternity Isle or Dreamlight Valley.
And there you have it—Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s Storybook Vale expansion is all wrapped up. But hold tight, as a teaser after the credits may point to exciting future developments!
