Each Mega Evolution in Pokémon Legends: Z-A can be a very powerful addition to your team, but Mega Alakazam might be the best Psychic-type you’ll find. This Pokémon has only a few weaknesses and uses strong psionic attacks to defeat opponents easily. Like other Mega forms, you need to have the right item to Mega Evolve Alakazam and add it to your squad.

Mega Alakazam remains a pure Psychic-type even after it Mega Evolves in Z-A, keeping its single element throughout each transformation. This is different from Mega Gardevoir’s Psychic/Fairy typing, Gallade’s Psychic/Fighting, or Mega Malamar’s Psychic/Dark. Although this gives Mega Alakazam fewer type match-ups, it also means it has fewer vulnerabilities.

Where to Find Alakazam in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Before you can add Alakazam to your team, you need to evolve it from Abra. Abra is fairly common in Wild Zone 5, an early-game area that’s easy to explore early on. However, Abra tends to teleport a lot, so bring plenty of Poké Balls to catch it.

If you’re having trouble finding Abra in Wild Zone 5, try looking for one on the rooftops in Wild Zone 1. Later in the game, some Kadabra (Abra’s evolved form) can also be found in Wild Zone 9 if you decide to catch one then.

Abra usually spawns on rooftops, so you’ll need to climb ladders to reach those higher spots. There are many high points on buildings in Wild Zone 5, making them easy to spot from a distance. Using a move like Thunder Wave to paralyze Abra can make catching it much easier.

Once you catch an Abra, you can train it up to level 16 to evolve it into Kadabra. To get from Kadabra to Alakazam, you’ll need to trade it with another player or friend. This trade is necessary because Kadabra only evolves into Alakazam through trading.

How to Get Alakazite in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

To Mega Evolve Alakazam, you need the Alakazite Mega Stone. First, you have to complete the main story and defeat Mission 10. This unlocks access to Quasartico Inc. Headquarters, where you can buy items like the Alakazite for 360 Mega Shards—a special currency earned by destroying shard clusters around Lumiose City.

There are ways to farm Mega Shards, such as trading Pink Canari plush toys at the Racine Construction Company for shards.

Using Alakazite on Alakazam in battle transforms it into one of the strongest Mega Evolutions in Z-A. Its boosted stats, especially its high Special Attack, make it a very powerful Pokémon. Although Alakazam isn’t a new Mega Evolution in this game, it’s still great against Fighting or Poison types. Mega Alakazam can be a strong choice to complete your team as you face tough battles and challenges in the game.
