There are just four classes in Battlefield 6, but each one can be customized through Training Paths. The Training Path you choose determines the passive benefits and the Active Ability you unlock by earning score. You don’t have to stick strictly to your Training Path’s strengths, but playing to its strengths makes you more effective.
When the game first launches, BF6 offers only two Training Paths for each of the four classes. More may be added later as new content. However, for now, you’ll start with the default paths. You can’t unlock new Training Paths until you reach level 20, and additional requirements must be met afterward. Details on how to unlock each class’s Training Paths, along with helpful tips, are provided below.
How to Unlock the Assault Class Frontliner Training Path
To unlock the Frontliner Path, you need to complete the Assault 2 Assignment. This becomes available only after reaching level 20, and you must finish prior Assignments first. The steps are:
- Reach player level 20
- Complete Assault 1 Assignment:
- Score at least 10,000 points using the Assault class
- Get 30 kills while using the Adrenaline Injector
- Complete Assault 2 Assignment:
- Have squadmates deploy on a Deploy Beacon (unlocked through Assault 1)
- Earn kills or assists on enemies who are stunned or concussed
Getting 30 kills with the Adrenaline Injector can be tough since its effects last only a few seconds. Try to know where enemies are and activate the Injector just before engaging to surprise them.
Killing or helping to kill concussed enemies is also challenging. You need to hit foes with a stun grenade or the M320A1 THRM thermobaric grenade launcher. The grenade launcher is easier to use but unlocks at rank 44, so a good alternative is to equip Stun Grenades, which you can get more of through the Breacher Training Path.
How to Unlock the Engineer Class Combat Engineer Training Path
Similar to Assault, you must reach level 20 and complete certain Assignments. Here’s what you need to do:
- Reach player level 20
- Complete Engineer 1 Assignment:
- Repair vehicles for a total of 2,000 HP
- Earn 10,000 points while playing as Engineer
- Complete Engineer 2 Assignment:
- Deal 5,000 damage to ground vehicles with launchers
- Deal 2,000 damage to ground vehicles with Anti-Vehicle Mines
Playing in Conquest mode makes it easier, as most maps feature vehicles. Repairing vehicles naturally happens during vehicle combat, and for more damage, use the MBT-LAW launcher that locks onto targets (aim at the enemy, no need to lead).
Anti-Vehicle Mines are very effective. Place them at intersections or on roads near objectives. They stay active between lives, so you can spread them out and reuse them repeatedly.
How to Unlock the Support Class Fire Support Training Path
You’ll need to reach level 20 and complete the Support 2 Assignment. This path emphasizes supporting teammates rather than reviving:
- Reach player level 20
- Complete Support 1 Assignment:
- Heal teammates for a total of 5,000 HP
- Earn 10,000 points using Support
- Complete Support 2 Assignment:
- Perform 200 revives with the Support class
- Deploy the Deployable Cover 25 times
Healing is part of your role as Support. Use your Supply Bag at choke points or in big fights to quickly finish Support 1. Revives are straightforward—carry a Defibrillator to revive fallen teammates easily. To complete the Deployable Cover task, just place it after spawning and pick it up again, repeating as needed.
How to Unlock the Recon Class Spec Ops Training Path
The process is the same: reach level 20 and finish the class assignments. This Path is ideal if you like using DMRs with Recon. Here are the steps:
- Reach player level 20
- Complete Recon 1 Assignment:
- Spot 250 enemies using Recon gadgets in objective areas
- Earn at least 10,000 points in Recon
- Complete Recon 2 Assignment:
- Achieve 50 headshots from over 150 meters away
For Recon 1, use the Recon Drone to mark enemies—best during Breakthrough mode. For Recon 2, master sniper rifles—remember to aim slightly above enemies’ heads to compensate for bullet drop at long ranges.
This straightforward guide should help you unlock and make the most of each Training Path in Battlefield 6, enhancing your gameplay experience.
