To get Flynn Ryder into your roster in Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Storybook Vale, you’ll first need to travel to Storybook Vale and tackle Merida’s initial questline. After completing Welcome to Storybook Vale and A New Chapter, and gaining access to the Bind biome, you will be able to unlock other biomes, including the one where Flynn resides.
There are several entrances to The Wild Woods, each requiring Storybook Magic. The most affordable entry point is on the western edge of The Bind.
Once you’ve arrived, engage with the Inkie to unlock The Wild Woods for 2,000 Storybook Magic. This action will kick off the quest titled “The Wolf of the Wilds.” Explore The Wild Woods until you come across a mysterious gateway. Next, head to the Library of Lore and engage with the Lorekeeper to learn more about this gateway, then speak to Merida, who will join you on your journey back to The Wild Woods.

Go through the gateway and dive into the exciting new area in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Storybook Vale. Keep going, investigating the peculiar growling you hear along the way. This leads you to a door. Get close and interact with it. In this segment of the quest, your task is to prove that the creature behind the door isn’t the wolf it appears to be. You’ll need to disprove:
- The size of its feet
- Its wolfish scent
- Its fierce howl
Search the area for evidence, as you’ll need Wolfish Slippers, Eau de Wolf, and a Howling Gramophone to proceed. Each piece of evidence can be found by exploring the trial area, with access to locked doors available by using your Royal Net.
Look for hints to each puzzle within notes placed around the rooms.
In one room, you’ll find rotating blocks that need to be matched to the solutions depicted on the walls. Some solutions are concealed behind stones, so clear them away with a pickaxe. The correct order for the blocks is:
After collecting the Wolfish Slippers, move on to the next room. Your next challenge involves crafting a Wolfish Smell using Oil, Wolf Fur, and Woodland Pine Fragrance. Gather these ingredients from the area and apply them to the firepit to concoct the cologne.
In the final room, you’ll have to place a piece of furniture in three different locations. This puzzle is themed after the story of “The Three Little Pigs.” Follow the story for guidance: place the hay bale first, the wood second, and the brick last to earn the Howling Gramophone.
After gathering all the evidence, return to the door and engage with it, ensuring you explore all dialogue options. When you do, the door will open and reveal Flynn Ryder.
Proceed past Flynn and engage with the source of the curse, which will trigger the growth of a beanstalk reaching towards Maleficent’s castle, granting you entry to Flynn’s home. Finally, place Flynn’s home within Storybook Vale in Disney Dreamlight Valley to complete the unlocking process.
