Locating All Rainbow Reef Puzzle Rooms

In the game Hello Kitty Island Adventure, you’ll discover a variety of environments, known as biomes, which become accessible as you successfully complete quests and upgrade your friends. The central hub of the game, Friendship Island, consists of several smaller islands, which serve as the primary areas to explore and enjoy.

Among these islands, one particularly interesting spot is Rainbow Reef. While the surface may appear limited, the vibrant underwater scenes and intriguing puzzle rooms await your exploration. In this guide, we’ll provide you with the locations of these puzzle rooms along with tips on how to solve them.

Locating All Rainbow Reef Puzzle Rooms

Rainbow Reef is home to five puzzle rooms, all located beneath the surface. To get to these rooms, you’ll need to create a snorkel. Keep in mind that the puzzle room entrances are often situated at great depths, so you may require additional stamina or the mermaid costume set, which you acquire during the Comic Relief quest.

Sunken Solutions Puzzle Room Solution

How To Locate the Sunken Solutions Puzzle Room

This particular puzzle room is situated in Rainbow Reef and is identifiable on your map as a sunken pirate ship. If you’re on the ‘Comic Relief’ quest, you’ll also find one of the blue crystals here. To reach the pirate ship, swim north from the Cozy Islands fast travel point, and then dive below the surface when you arrive.

How To Solve the Sunken Solutions Puzzle Room

Enter through the white entrance located south of the pirate ship to enter the puzzle room. In the far-right corner near the ship’s bow, you’ll spot a wooden chest containing a Pirate Hat. If you’ve already retrieved the blue power crystal, there’s no further action needed here.

To collect the blue power crystal, activate either the red block situated south of the ship or the red block on the hill to the north. These blocks will create air currents. By using these currents in conjunction with your balloons, you can rise up and fly to the ship’s mast and grab the power crystal.

Maze Craze Puzzle Room Solution

Locating the Maze Craze Puzzle Room

To find this puzzle room, head underwater, directly to the right of the Kelp Maze fast travel point within Rainbow Reef. Alternatively, you can swim southeast from the dock located south of Gemstone Mountain to reach it.

To open this puzzle room, you must complete the Nature Preserve quest and obtain the Bog Star Fragment.

Solving the Maze Craze Puzzle Room

Your goal in this puzzle room is to navigate to the maze end:

First, grab the golden cube and place it on the yellow button.
Next, move left and head north into the room to collect the golden cube from the purple button.
Leave the room, shift right, and set the golden cube on the teal button.
Now, go north to retrieve the golden cube from the green button. Exit the maze and place the golden cube on the red button next to the yellow button.
Doing so will unlock the main door needed to finalize the maze.

Now that you’re in the maze, go straight north, ascend the stairs, turn right, and open the wooden chest to discover a Hello Kitty Mirror.

Telltale Totems Puzzle Room Solution

Finding the Telltale Totems Puzzle Room

To locate this puzzle room, start at the center of Resort Plaza, where you initially landed in the game. Next, head north and follow the wooden plank path. When you reach the bridge, turn left and swim in the shallow waters remaining close to the island.

Look for an underwater rock arch—be careful not to overlook it. Dive down, and between the two rock arches, you’ll spot the entrance to the puzzle room.

You’ll need the Rainbow Reef Star Fragment, which can be obtained by completing the Reef Revival quest, to unlock the door.

How to Solve the Telltale Totems Puzzle Room

Inside, you’ll encounter a puzzle that involves buttons and golden cubes. The solution is straightforward. Around the buttons, there are three directional signboards featuring symbols. You need to arrange the golden cubes on the appropriate buttons that correspond to the symbols on the boards. Use the following table to guide you in positioning the cubes correctly:

Locating the Counters Cove Puzzle Room

To reach this room, start at the Sunken Ship fast travel point and swim northeast. Alternatively, begin at the southern dock of Gemstone Mountain, swim left past the chest, and dive into the water near the large rocks to find the entrance.

You’ll need the Gemstone Mountain Star Fragment, which you can get by completing the Revive The Oasis quest, to unlock this puzzle room.

Solving the Counters Cove Puzzle Room

Once you enter, take notice of the symbols on the wall in front of you:

Three glowing purple symbols
One glowing green symbol
Two glowing teal symbols

Walk around the central stone tower where you’ll find sign mechanisms with buttons in front of them. Each mechanism displays a row of three circular symbols, arranged as one on the left, two in the middle, and three on the right.

Your task is to adjust the signs by pressing the buttons to ensure that the number of glowing symbols on the wall aligns with the symbols on the signs:

Your sign for purple should have the third row’s symbols facing towards you.
Your sign for teal should have the second row’s symbols facing towards you.
Your sign for green should have the first row’s symbol facing towards you.

Press the buttons accordingly until the proper symbols on each sign face you. When you’ve finished, the door above the climbable wall will open, letting you access the chest that contains a Pirate Barrel Side Table.

Lofty Logistics Puzzle Room Solution

How To Find the Lofty Logistics Puzzle Room

To discover this puzzle room, jump right from the Cozy Islands fast travel point and dive into the water; its entrance lies just beneath the island without requiring extensive swimming.

To unlock this puzzle room, you need the Mount Hothead Star Fragment, which you can acquire by completing the Fire Up The Volcano quest.

Solving the Lofty Logistics Puzzle Room

Upon entering, you’ll see a couple of accessible red cubes and a green cube situated above that you cannot reach. You can grab one red cube, but the other remains stationary. Activate the stationary red cube to release a burst of air. Utilize the portable red cube to position it at the ledge edge above the stairs on your left and activate it.

Use the airflow generated by the red cubes to press the yellow button located upstairs to the north. This will open the door, granting you access to the chest inside. Inside the chest, you’ll find the Pirate Standing Lamp.
