Monster Hunter Wilds offers an extensive range of equipment and weaponry for battling monsters. While players can use almost any gear to navigate through the main storyline, the challenge ramps up significantly when they enter the High Ranks.
Once you finish the main quest, you’ll encounter tougher monsters, requiring more advanced gear to take them on effectively. You can improve your armor by crafting new sets or enhancing your existing gear, but this process demands a significant amount of Armor Spheres.
How to Acquire Armor Spheres
Armor Spheres are essential for upgrading your armor, but they can be tricky to find. Enhanced armor helps you absorb attacks from monsters that might otherwise be lethal. With strong armor, you can withstand minor hits and keep focusing on your offense.
One method to earn Armor Spheres is by completing various quests. Many optional and story missions reward you with these spheres upon completion. If you tend to stick with one or two armor sets, the spheres you earn through quests should suffice for your upgrading needs.
However, the simplest way to get Armor Spheres is through the smelting process. Head to the base camp located in the Oilwell Basin Area. Just north of the tent, you’ll meet Roqul, who can smelt various materials for you. Engage with Roqul and select the ‘Smelt Armor Spheres’ option to choose the specific type of Armor Sphere you want to create.
Here’s a quick overview of the different types of Armor Spheres and their corresponding values:
Name | Value |
---|---|
Armor Sphere | 10 pts |
Armor Sphere+ | 50 pts |
Advanced Armor Sphere | 200 pts |
Hard Armor Sphere | 1000 pts |
You can check the required points for enhancing your armor by visiting the armor-upgrading menu at the Smithy. Keep in mind that the higher the point value of an Armor Sphere, the more items it will take to smelt it at the Smelting Foundry.
Once you select the Armor Sphere you wish to craft, you’ll move on to the next screen, where you need to choose monster parts obtained from your hunts to smelt them into Armor Spheres. Using higher rarity materials will yield more points, but it’s wise to utilize additional monster materials you have in stock.
After selecting the necessary materials, simply hit the ‘Smelt’ button to create your Armor Spheres. These will be added to your inventory, allowing you to upgrade your armor later by speaking with Gemma.
