What Is The Fast Recon Vehicle?

The FRV is built for squad mobility and firepower. It has a seat for a driver, a rear gunner equipped with a mounted heavy machine gun, and room for three more passengers who can use their weapons while riding along. This isn’t just a vehicle; it’s a weapon itself. It can ram into foes, push aside other vehicles, and navigate rough landscapes with ease.

Nonetheless, the FRV does have its drawbacks. Its fuel tank holds only 60 liters, so you’ll need to use it wisely during longer missions. Hitting other vehicles, especially parked ones, can lead to fires or explosions, so careful driving is crucial.

How To Find The Fast Recon Vehicle

If you want the FRV, head over to Calypso in the Saleria Sector, where the Illuminate forces dominate. Just a warning—it’s not an easy mission since the FRV only appears in missions rated Difficulty four or above, meaning you’ll face intense opposition. These missions often take place in areas with human colonies, complete with streets and buildings that could be the perfect hiding spots for the FRV.

The FRV is most likely to spawn near side objectives within these urban environments.

As you embark on your mission, watch your map for a car icon combined with bullets, which indicates where the FRV is located. Utilizing a Recon Booster can also help increase your radar’s range, enhancing your chances to spot it. Unlike some other vehicles, the FRV doesn’t need activation or extra objectives—once you spot it, you can hop in and go.

At the moment, the FRV is accessible solely through these high-difficulty missions, but future updates might introduce it as a deployable Stratagem. For now, you can check it out in the Vehicle Customization menu on your Super Destroyer.

How To Use The Fast Recon Vehicle

Driving the FRV is straightforward. To begin, interact with the vehicle to sit in the driver’s seat or one of the passenger spots. If you’re driving, you control forward motion by accelerating with the W key or RT, while braking is accomplished using the S key or LT. You can steer easily using the A and D keys on PC or the left stick on consoles.

The FRV offers five operational modes: Reverse, Neutral, Drive, Drive Mode One, and Drive Mode Two. On PC, switch between these modes using the ‘Ctrl‘ key along with the up arrow key. Console users can toggle modes using L1 and L2.
