Wings in Disney Dreamlight Valley: Your Guide to Flying

While wings have existed in Disney Dreamlight Valley for some time, their functionality has significantly expanded with the latest update, allowing players to actually fly. Initially, wings served solely as decorative back accessories for customizing outfits, but now they offer a new way to explore the valley.

However, to fly using wings, you must have them equipped on your character. Unlike gliders that only activate when in use, wings remain visible at all times. If you remove them, you’ll revert to using your glider for travel throughout the valley.

How to Acquire Wings in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Unlocking Wings Through Premium Store, Quests, or Events

Since wings have been available from the game’s early days, you may already possess a pair, even if you didn’t try to acquire them. If you find yourself without any, there are limited methods to obtain them. Currently, wings cannot be found in Scrooge McDuck’s store, meaning you can’t simply wait to buy them with star coins.

Instead, you can gain wings by leveling up, completing quests, or making purchases in the premium shop. As of now, only a few specific quests offer wings as rewards, including Merlin’s "The Dark Castle," which rewards you with Cardboard Wings, and Buzz’s "Space Ranger Recruit," giving you the Space Ranger Wings.

You can retrieve basic wing options by leveling up; for instance, reaching level 22 rewards you with the Sparkly Wings, while level 38 grants access to the Thorny Wings. Though these options are decent, more popular wings inspired by characters—like those resembling Maleficent or Tinker Bell—require earning Moonstones in the game.

Tips for Obtaining Wings

Moonstones can be hard to come by, so it might be wise to wait for a specific wing set you want to be available in the Premium Shop rather than settling for the first pair you see. The shop frequently runs promotions as well.

Keep in mind that the Premium Shop’s inventory changes regularly, so if you don’t spot any desired wings initially, it’s worth returning often. Additionally, due to a new preference feature in the shop update, there’s a chance certain wings won’t appear if the game thinks they won’t suit your taste. When available, wings might cost several thousand Moonstones, so you may need to save up or opt to purchase additional Moonstones with real money.

Even if the current Star Path doesn’t feature wings rewards, participating in it is still beneficial because you can earn Moonstones, which can then be spent in the Premium Shop.

Understanding the Star Path

The Star Path is a month-long event that rewards players for completing specific tasks. Rewards often include furniture, outfits, character costumes, and sometimes even wings. While not every Star Path will offer wings, many do, so it’s an excellent opportunity to earn them without needing to spend real money.

Effectively Using Wings to Fly in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Equipping Your Wings

Flying in Disney Dreamlight Valley is quite straightforward. If you’ve been using the Glider, you already know how effective it is for traveling around the valley. Although fast travel is an option, gliding allows you to spot things in the valley while checking off your to-do list.

However, to glide or fly, you need to have a Well Fed stamina bar. This bar turns a sparkling yellow and serves as extra energy for travel. You activate it by consuming a prepared meal rather than just eating raw vegetables or using the house to refill your stamina.

To see the Well Fed bar, you must have eaten a meal prepared at a cooking station. Thankfully, with Tiana’s Meal Stall now in the valley, you have access to ready-made meals if you don’t want to bother cooking yourself.

Keep in Mind

When your Well Fed stamina bar depletes, you’re back to just your regular blue bar and cannot fly or glide, despite having some energy left. Utilizing this flying feature will drain energy from your Well Fed bar.

Once you have your Well Fed stamina activated, open your inventory and navigate to the Gliders category. You’ll find all your glider options, including your wings. Select the wings you wish to use and exit the inventory. Then, while moving, hit the designated button on the screen to take flight in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Enjoy soaring through the skies as you explore the game!
