Unlock Shiny Meltan & Keldeo Through Pokémon HOME: A Guide

Pokémon HOME is introducing two new Shiny Mythical Pokémon, including one that has never been accessible before. In recent months, Pokémon HOME has been rewarding players with Shiny Mythical Pokémon for fulfilling different regional Pokédex challenges in the Pokémon mobile app. Many of these Mythical Pokémon have not been officially released as Shiny options before, making these missions the exclusive way to add them to your collection.

Two additional tasks have been added, with Shiny Meltan and Shiny Keldeo as the new rewards. While Shiny Meltan has been obtainable through particular Pokémon GO events previously, this is the first occasion Shiny Keldeo can be acquired. However, to earn these Mythical Pokémon, you’ll need to capture a significant number of Pokémon with certain marks.

How to Obtain Shiny Meltan via HOME

Finish the Kanto Pokédex in Pokémon HOME

You can earn Shiny Meltan by completing the Kanto Pokédex in Pokémon HOME. However, only Pokémon from Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu & Eevee can be used for this task. To populate the Pokédex, you’ll need to transfer or trade for all 151 Pokémon listed. Additionally, each Pokémon must have an origin mark indicating it came from Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu & Eevee; Pokémon transferred from Pokémon GO or other titles won’t count.

Once you’ve completed the Kanto Pokédex, you can claim Shiny Meltan through the Mystery Gift feature on the mobile version of Pokémon HOME. Shiny Meltan can then be moved to any eligible Pokémon game, including Pokémon Sword & Shield and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu & Eevee.

How to Obtain Shiny Keldeo via HOME

Complete the Galar, Isle of Armor, and Crown Tundra Pokédexes

For Shiny Keldeo, you will have to complete significantly more tasks than for Shiny Meltan. You need to finish the Galar Pokédex and both the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra Pokédexes. Similar to the Kanto Pokédex, these Pokémon must originate from Pokémon Sword & Shield. Transfers from Pokémon GO or other games do not fulfill this mission either.

You can examine a Pokémon’s stats to check if it has the Galar Marker, confirming its eligibility for this mission.

After successfully completing all three Pokédexes, Shiny Keldeo will be available as a Mystery Gift reward in the mobile version of Pokémon HOME. You can transfer Keldeo to any other eligible Pokémon game after it’s added to your collection. Like Shiny Meltan, there is currently no deadline for completing this mission.
