Pokémon Legends: Z-A has been doing a good job of introducing new Mega Evolutions since its launch. One of these is for the Mythical Pokémon Diancie. Since this is an event Pokémon, many fans will want to catch Diancie while they can. To do so, you’ll need to complete a side quest and use the Mystery Gift feature.
The event to distribute Diancite started on November 6, 2025, and currently has no set end date. However, it’s best to act quickly to get Mega Diancie before the event ends. To receive Diancie, you must finish a side mission called “Shine Bright Like A Gemstone,” which only appears after you obtain the Diancite Mega Stone.
How to Get Diancite in Legends: Z-A
To get the Diancite Mega Stone, connect online with your Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 and claim it as a Mystery Gift. Choose “Get via Internet” in the Mystery Gift menu. If you don’t already have the Diancite, it will appear as an option. Select “Receive this Gift” to add it to your inventory. You’ll find it in your Satchel after closing the Mystery Gift menu.
How to Complete “Shine Bright Like A Gemstone”
Once you have the Diancite, you can start the side quest “Shine Bright Like A Gemstone,” but only if you’ve finished the main story. After that, travel to the Looker Bureau and speak to Mimi, Emma’s Espurr. Mimi will notice you have the Diancite, and the mission will begin.
Prerequisites:
- Complete the main story
- Have the Diancite in your Satchel
After a short cutscene, you’ll follow Mimi around Lumiose City. The quest starts at a food truck where Emma’s thoughts can be heard thanks to Espurr’s help. The mission involves chasing Mimi across the city, viewing brief scenes, and repeating the chase. If you have the quest active, it will show up on your city map.
Eventually, you’ll face Diancie and two Carbink on a rooftop. After catching Diancie, Emma will share some interesting lore about Mega Evolution, AZ, and the Hoenn Region. Overall, it’s a straightforward mission that rewards you with a Mythical Pokémon and its Mega Stone. It’s a worthwhile quest to do before the event ends.
