Understanding FBC: Firebreak Resonance and Status Effects
In FBC: Firebreak, teamwork is essential, especially when tackling higher difficulty levels. Utilizing Resonance and status effects can greatly enhance your chances of survival. Sometimes, simply relying on firepower won’t get you through tougher challenges, so thinking creatively in combat becomes crucial.
Initially, you won’t need to focus too much on Resonance or status effects during your early missions. However, as you gather Lost Assets and expand your Research upgrades, you’ll want to carefully consider your loadout and which effects to integrate into your strategy. Here’s a breakdown of what you should know about Resonance and status effects in FBC: Firebreak.
What is FBC: Firebreak Resonance?
Resonance creates a unique field around each player, providing beneficial effects to nearby teammates. In its basic form, Resonance helps recharge shields for your squad. You can enhance this effect with additional perks that further boost your team.
Each perk in FBC: Firebreak has three levels: Weak, Strong, and Resonant. By investing Lost Assets and other resources, you can elevate a perk to the Resonant level, allowing its benefits to extend to all allies within range. This opens up exciting possibilities for team coordination during battles.
Keep in mind that while Resonant perks are powerful, they consume more loadout slots. A Weak perk utilizes one slot, whereas a Resonant perk requires three.
Understanding Status Effects in FBC: Firebreak
As you explore the Research section, you’ll notice specific status effects tied to certain perks. These effects can be activated through regular gameplay, especially when using items like the Splash Kit or Jump Kit, although perks are the most effective means of applying them during fights.
There are four primary status effects in FBC: Firebreak:
- Fire
- Wet
- Shock
- Cold
Some effects deal damage on their own while others can be combined for amplified results. For instance, while Fire is self-explanatory, the Wet effect increases the damage dealt by Shock and Cold. Mastering the use of these status effects can significantly raise your damage output, especially on higher difficulties.
Wet not only reduces heat buildup but also cleanses detrimental statuses from allies. Additionally, Wet enemies become more vulnerable to Shock and Cold attacks. Shock inflicts damage and can briefly stagger enemies. Fire buildup sets enemies ablaze, causing them to take ongoing damage, though fiery foes become faster and more aggressive. Cold, on the other hand, slows down enemies and counters Fire buildup, making it a tactical option for controlling crowds.
It’s advisable to escalate perks in the Bullet category of the Research section to the Resonant level, allowing you to share valuable status effects with your team. Spend time reviewing the benefit descriptions to begin crafting effective builds. For example, consider using Wet Bullets through Resonance and pairing it with the Dynamo perk, which triggers Shock upon reloading.
