Marvel Rivals is an exciting team-based shooter featuring characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With many beloved heroes already part of the game, it has attracted a large player base and gained significant popularity among streamers.

In Marvel Rivals, players engage in competitive six-on-six battles, utilizing powerful heroes to accomplish various objectives. Each hero possesses unique abilities, with some being incredibly effective while others may fall short in comparison. With skillful play, heroes can counter any enemy strategy, potentially shifting the momentum of the match. This is where the Cosmic Selection system becomes crucial.

What Is Cosmic Selection In Marvel Rivals?

Cosmic Selection is a hero ban system applicable only in ranks above Diamond three. This feature allows each team to vote on heroes to ban from the entire match, rendering them unavailable for selection.

At the beginning of each round, every player can cast a vote to ban one hero. The hero with the most votes is banned from the match.

This system enables players at higher ranks to devise more thorough strategies, prevents them from falling victim to unmanageable combos from multiple heroes, and helps avoid being overwhelmed by powerful attacks from characters like Hawkeye.

In tournament scenarios, Cosmic Selection operates differently. Here, heroes are chosen solely by team leaders, avoiding the voting process. Each leader can ban two characters and designate one character to be protected from bans by the opposing team.

Team leaders alternate in selecting heroes for the ban and protected slots.

What Heroes Are Likely To Be Banned?

Characters such as Hela, Hawkeye, and Doctor Strange are very likely to be banned in Cosmic Selection matches. Hawkeye can eliminate most damage-dealing heroes in a single hit, while Hela also has impressive headshot potential. Doctor Strange offers a flexible skill set with his portal ability and his ultimate can quickly change the course of battles.

Ultimately, the decisions about which heroes to ban will depend on player strategy, and as new heroes are added, the options for Cosmic Selection may expand.
