Season 3.5 of Marvel Rivals is coming soon, introducing the new Duelist character Blade along with some balance updates, including new Team-Up abilities. Like always with seasonal updates, the developers are making changes to improve how characters work together. They’re removing certain Team-Ups and adding new ones, which helps create fresh ways to build teams and encourages players to try different character combinations.
Since newer seasons tend to be shorter, these Team-Up adjustments are happening more frequently than before. For example, Season 3 saw some powerful pairings, like Wolverine teamed up with The Phoenix, which affected the game’s strategy. It’s uncertain whether Season 3.5 will bring balance or just introduce more dominant team combos.
Which Team-Ups Are Being Removed?
Two long-standing Team-Ups from the game’s launch are ending in Season 3.5:
- Guardian Revival (Adam Warlock + Star-Lord + Mantis)
- Atlas Bond (Iron Fist + Luna Snow)
Guardian Revival was a top-tier ability because it let Mantis and Star-Lord revive themselves once if they were on a team with Adam Warlock. Atlas Bond, on the other hand, wasn’t used much since other synergies were stronger. The good news is that the characters linked to these Team-Ups will still be able to team up through new or existing abilities, which likely will be just as effective.
New Team-Up Abilities in Season 3.5
Two new Team-Ups are arriving, many of which include interesting healing effects. This change probably comes partly because Blade can disrupt healing on enemies, so including teams with healing abilities offers strategic options.
Many of these new Team-Ups provide some sort of healing or recovery, easing the burden on Strategist characters who usually manage team healing. While there’s a concern they might be too strong, players will need to try them out to see how they work.
Here are the new Team-Ups and the characters involved:
- Duality Dance (Luna Snow + Adam Warlock): Adam helps Luna bond with an enemy, boosting damage and healing Luna when she hits that enemy.
- Vibrant Vitality (Groot + Mantis + Loki): Mantis anchors this Team-Up, boosting Loki’s healing fields and Groot’s plant walls, which heal over time.
Existing Team-Ups That Changed
Some existing Team-Ups now include new characters:
- Chilling Assault (Luna Snow + Hawkeye): Luna and Hawkeye gain a new synergy.
- Rocket Network (Peni Parker + Rocket Raccoon): Rocket Gains a new gadget, allowing Star-Lord to teleport to a beacon he throws—a new way to surprise enemies.
- Lunar Force (Cloak & Dagger + Moon Knight): Blade is added as a new member, creating a Darkforce field that grants temporary invisibility and disrupts enemies’ targeting.
Adding these characters increases what heroes can do together, offering new tactics and keeping team setups interesting. The overall goal is to make team-building more versatile and dynamic for players.
This season is set to launch Blade on August 8, 2025, with more balance updates coming later. These changes should give players new ways to experiment, balance the gameplay, and discover strong team combinations.
