If you’ve already unlocked most of what ARC Raiders has to offer or want a new challenge, the Expedition system introduced by Embark Studios is a great way to add some excitement to your end-game activities. Similar to refresh or reset features in extraction shooters like Escape From Tarkov, starting an expedition will reset most of your character’s progress. However, you’ll keep certain things like challenges, maps, and cosmetic items.
While it might seem like there’s little reason to participate in the Expedition system, it’s actually more flexible than others because it’s completely optional. You can choose to skip the expedition or wait until the next season begins. The current expedition runs until December 21, 2025, giving you plenty of time to gather the necessary materials to upgrade your raider.
### How to Complete the First Phase of an Expedition
The first step involves collecting key resources to build the base of your mechanical vehicle. You’ll need a lot of materials, so it’s smart to upgrade your storage or save miscellaneous items to recycle later. Fortunately, the first phase is the easiest. You’ll need:
| Material | Quantity | Where to Find |
|———————|————|———————————|
| Metal Parts | 150 | Recycling |
| Rubber Parts | 200 | Recycling |
| ARC Alloy | 80 | Defeating ARC enemies |
| Steel Springs | 15 | Industrial areas |
The Metal and Rubber parts are common and easy to recycle, while ARC Alloy drops frequently from most enemies. Steel Springs can be a little trickier but are available from loot and trading with Celeste using Seeds.
### How to Complete the Second Phase
The next step involves building core systems like wiring and ventilation. Collecting 490 units of fabric may take time unless you’ve been saving them, but you can find many of these items in medical loot areas. You’ll also need:
| Material | Quantity | Where to Find |
|———————-|————|————————————–|
| Durable Cloth | 35 | Medical or crafting locations |
| Wires | 30 | Electrical/technological loot areas |
| Electrical Components| 30 | Recycling or looting electronics |
| Cooling Fans | 5 | High-level maps like Stella Montis |
For Wires and Electrical Components, recycling electronics is a quick option, and high-level maps are your best bet for rare items like Cooling Fans.
### How to Complete the Third Phase
Building larger systems requires 30 Batteries and 20 Sensors, most of which can be obtained by recycling or purchasing from Celeste using Seeds. Some items, like Exodus Modules, are rarer but can be bought or found on specific maps like Stella Montis.
### How to Complete the Fourth Phase
This phase focuses on scarce materials such as humidifiers, Leaper Pulse Units, and other advanced gear. For Leaper Pulse Units, defeating the Leaper ARC enemies or recycling Magnetrons will get you what you need. Crafting some items, like Magnetic Accelerators, is also a viable option.
### How to Complete the Fifth Phase
The final stage involves gathering resources to fund your expedition. You need to donate a total of $830,000 in credits and various materials such as combat items, survival gear, provisions, and generic materials. Blueprints are also valuable, as each is worth $5,000 in credits. This process might be time-consuming but helps clear space in your stash.
### How to Complete the Sixth Phase
The last step involves collecting specific items like caches buried around the map. After gathering everything, you’ll send your raider on the expedition between December 15 and 20. Once the expedition starts, your character’s progress resets, but you keep maps, unlocked items, and other progress marks. You’ll also earn seasonal rewards like cosmetics, stash slots, and skill points, plus temporary buffs for the next season.
### Final Tips
– Try to farm materials early by focusing on high-yield areas.
– Complete quests and upgrade your Workshop to gather resources more efficiently.
– Remember, participating in expeditions is optional, but it offers great rewards and progression, especially for those aiming for end-game content.
Even if you choose not to go through the prestige system, the game offers plenty of upcoming content and challenges to keep you engaged.
