Pokémon GO is adding new Pokémon with its latest weekly event called Cozy Companions. This event comes right after the popular Adventure Week 2025, and it offers many new Pokémon appearances, special rewards, and exciting features for players to enjoy during its run.
The Cozy Companions event runs from Wednesday, July 6 at 10 a.m. local time until Tuesday, August 12 at 8 p.m. local time. There is a paid research task available for purchase, but the event itself is free for everyone to join once they log into Pokémon GO.

New Pokémon and Spawns
Two new Pokémon will debut during this event: Snom and Frosmoth, both from the eighth generation. Snom can be hatched from 7 km eggs received when opening gifts if you have space in your egg inventory. Evolving Snom into Frosmoth requires 400 candies and 10 hearts with Snom as a buddy.
Additionally, two Pokémon are getting shiny versions for the first time in Pokémon GO: Tandemaus and Maushold. These shiny variants can be discovered by completing timed research.
During the event, six specific Pokémon — Abra, Karrablast, Shelmet, Phantump, Geodude, and Alolan Geodude — will spawn more frequently in the wild. While these aren’t the rarest Pokémon, they won’t appear often outside this event. All of these Pokémon have the chance to be shiny.
Event Rewards
Playing during Cozy Companions offers extra benefits. Players will receive twice the usual experience points (XP) for hatching Eggs. The Eggs hatchable during the event are mostly the same, except for 7 km Eggs, which now include Galarian Farfetch’d, Pancham, Snom, and Charcadet.
Each player can also perform one additional special trade per day, and friendship levels will increase faster through activities like opening gifts, trading Pokémon, battling in raids with friends, or challenging Team GO Rocket Leader Giovanni.
Field research, timed research, and paid timed research are available and provide various rewards, including items and opportunities to encounter Pokémon like Snom and Tandemaus.
Although the Cozy Companions event is smaller compared to others, the debut of two Pokémon and the introduction of shiny variants make it a worthwhile event to participate in.
