Ark: Survival Ascended has unveiled its Valentine’s Day event for 2025, called Love Ascended. This annual event takes place in February and is all about celebrating everything romantic, complete with special rewards for players who participate. In February 2025, Ark enthusiasts can expect new tames, experience boosts, and cosmetic items. While some items return each year, there are always new rewards for long-time players who have already collected much of the loot available.

This year, Love Ascended arrives between two major DLC expansions for Ark: Survival Ascended: Extinction, released in December, and Ragnarok, set to launch in April after some delays. This event is a perfect opportunity for those who haven’t played recently to jump back into the game and earn unique rewards and exclusive tames before the event wraps up. The 2025 Love Ascended event will run from February 12 at 10 AM PST to February 19 at 10 AM PST—here’s a rundown of the available rewards.

All Creatures in Ark’s 2025 Love Ascended Event

New & Returning Creatures

The 2025 Love Ascended event will feature three new and returning creatures:

Lovebirds (new)
Love Bugs
VDay Coel

We have the least information about the Lovebirds, as they are making their debut this year. They are expected to be some kind of bird, but details on where players can find them, how to interact with them, and the rewards they offer remain under wraps. Returning this year are Love Bugs, which are aggressive variants of Rhyniognatha found across various maps. While they can’t be tamed, they drop Love Bug Hearts, a special event item used to craft various rewards.

Additionally, the Valentine’s Day Coelacanth variant, a pink version of the common fish in Ark, is returning. Players can catch it using a Love Bug Heart as bait, which may yield Boxes o’ Chocolate (with new mechanics this year), Dino Candies, or Chibis.

A variety of cosmetic items will return during Love Ascended 2025, including skins that modify the appearance of weapons, armor, and furniture, as well as colors for wild dinosaurs.

Along with the previously mentioned items, there will be new Chibis introduced during the Love Ascended event, akin to Lil’ pets you can carry around:

Event items—special collectibles found during Love Ascended—will return to support unique activities or to craft exclusive skins. While no new event items are introduced this year, the Box o’ Chocolates now has an additional effect, decreasing the mating cooldown of tamed creatures fed with it by 20%.
